Annoying message on Facebook from SIL

The funny thing about Pampered Chef is that none of the SAHMs who use them cook well at all and it just encourages hyper-consumerism. No one needs all that stuff. It's wasteful. Tell your SIL to get a real job.

How many ice cream scoops have you had? I’ve had one which I bought at Target for about $8 20 years ago. Who needs a nice ice cream scoop unless you work in an ice cream parlor?

I’d do one of 2 things:
1) ignore/not respond
2) respond and be brief and kind but firm “No thank you.” Is sufficient. Or “I am not interested in buying anything or joining a group. Good luck!”

Just buy something. Stop being so offended.

This is definitely one of the better MLMs if you have to buy something. Their spatulas are good.

Why should the OP buy anything from a person who keeps on pestering her even when there has been ZERO indication of interest from OP? If you read the rest of the pages, this SIL is the one who is offensive with all her personal questions.

I don't understand how anyone can make money from a company like this. How many cooking gadgets can you convince someone to buy? The comparison to being a car salesperson is different because the person gets a commission from the cars sold. They don't go around signing people up to be selling crap under them.

I would say " I don't support multi-level marketing companies" instead.

You'd only be encouraging her. Maybe OP can offer to proofread her resume or something. That would be more meaningful than buying a useless spatula.

I described it as Avon for kitchen utensils to DH and he says we ought to buy something even though I say we don't need anything because "it's family". I'm annoyed that she's soliciting me and I regret sharing about this with DH! How to tell her that she's being duped and that what she's doing is gauche?

JFC buy a darn frying pan or something from your SIL. It's not gauche, you insufferable snob. Or are you too co to use kitchen utensils?

Kitchen utensils dont need replacing. Are you selling Pampered Chef too? It is gauche to solicit people to buy crap from you.

This right here is the best answer!!!

The bar pan is amazing though lol.

Perfect. You don’t have to buy anything but you can be polite. I know you can do it! Seriously though at least pampered chef products are good.

The pampered chef garlic press is the absolute best purchase you can make. But it and be done. You won’t regret it.

Chopping your own garlic is too hard for you?
