Indoor Basketball Rec Leagues not requiring masks during practice and games!!!!

| My kids have been playing basketball since summer. I ask them to play in a mask. My kids are in person school so I made this a requirement to participate. They are in a mask all say at school. They are in a mask for basketball. Fairfax County travel mandating a mask. Rec programs vary. |

| I have no idea if all Rec programs using FCPS Facilities have to wear a mask but I know LMVSC said they were told they had to require masks to use FCPS gyms. My kid has practice Wednesday night and masks are required. I will report back on how it went, if anyone cares. |

| Burke Basketball (played in FCPS gyms) sounds like it's not requiring masks for players at all times. Their protocols say masks are required for coaches at practices, but nothing about the kids. In their game section, it says all coaches must be masked as well as players on the bench, so I assume players on the court are allowed to be unmasked. |

| My MS age kids will play in hazmat suits if they had to, but I don't love the masks for the early ES grades. They trip and fall all over each other during games as it is, adding masks makes me nervous. |

| Well since fcps probably aren’t opening, I don’t think you will have to worry about wearing anything in the fcybl since the rely on fcps gym space |

| Thee season was supposed to go from January until March and now the school’s definitely wont be open until maybe February 6th. I think that rules out the season unless it’s postponed to further into the spring or summer and then it will be interfering with AAU season |

| The gym space is permitted by NCS, not FCPS. If the buildings are open then the permits stand. |

| My child had practice tonight and I was slated to be COVID Parent. Everyone was required to wear a mask. We play with LMVSC. Someone came to inspect us not from the rec league. I don't know if it was a FCPS person or a County person but they asked a series of questions about our pre-screening form and looked to make sure everyone in the gym had a mask (players, coaches, and me as COVID Parent). |

Our travel coach sent us the guidelines. Players wear Masks at practice in FCPS gyms and masks at entire FCYBL games. |
