Is this because you believe that Democrats are socialists and they will enact he green new deal, medicare for all, and ban fracking. That is all BS meant to scare people. The outcome of electing the two GA democrats would be that they could actually pass an economic relief bill and fix many of the problems with Obamacare, perhaps get real immigration reform. We elected a moderate President, he is not the radical left. |
^^^ And Biden would pass stimulus bills and address covid. Better hope a Republican Senate prevents that, for sure! |
I don't feel comfortable saying all the reasons I don't want democrats fully in charge - I'll just get flamed or deleted. |
If I were a Republican in GA, I'd be worried about January. The Democratic voter turnout for President was noteworthy, and you can bet that Stacey Abrams and others will continue to energize the Democratic base to vote on January 5th. Meanwhile, neither Perdue nor Loeffler are exactly superstars in the popularity department among likely GOP voters.
Either way, it will be close. |
I’ll say why, because they’ll spend us even further into debt and raise our taxes while they do it. However, the R’s need a serious house cleaning and not sure they’re even a viable party. Would be nice to see Dems split apart and have a fiscally conservative, anti-big business, pro-small business, pro-capitalism, anti-trust, pro-bill of rights, pro-liberal social rights, pro-defense, pro-police, anti-police brutality, pro-hand up, anti-hand out wing to the party. |
Sounds like you need a safe space? |
If you can't own your reasons, perhaps it's because you know they are wrong or biased. |
Ah, yes, suddenly -SUDDENLY- the deficit and spending matter again. Amazing how that only matters during Democratic presidencies and control. |
Please look up actual data - from the government. GDP growth, employment growth, National debt. You will see that it is CLEAR that the most fiscally responsible administrations in recent history were Clinton and Obama. Trump ran up our deficit like crazy when the economy was strong (and without investing in infrastructure). Good economic theory says that you pay down the debt when things are going well so that you can loosen monetary policy when things are bad. We are less able to weather the COVID economic crisis because Trump gave our national piggy bank away to billionaires for their private jets for no real benefit to the country - except for a massive and needless run-up of debt. |

Dumping boatloads of money into a race clearly does not work. Look at Maine, South Carolina, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Dems need to give that up and stick to Abrams model of organizing/registering. All the ads in to world are not going to change that. Just a waste of money. |
THIS!!! It is maddening! And Republicans are generally worse for the debt because they don't actually cut spending just move it around and then cut taxes since they don't seem to understand the whole revenue vs. expenses thing. I guess we'll be getting back to arguing about raising the debt ceiling again or is that no longer a thing? |
This! Mcgrath got roughly the same margin as McConnell's last challenger. Only difference is that she spent 10s of millions of more dollars. Democrats win by turning out the vote, not blowing money on ads. |
WTF? A - How do you require a photo ID in order to move ahead with a mail-in ballot? Do them mean requiring Georgians to share a ID before applying for a ballot - in that case they already do that. B - Or do they need to scan copies of their IDs and send them in with the mail-in ballot? Republicans are such nasty people. |
