Both Georgia seats are heading to January 5th runoff. Let’s use this thread for official news and organizing efforts to flip these seats.
I will go first - starting my efforts to donate $25 each to Warnock and Ossoff. I intend to do this every week till the weekend before the election. I also plan to participate in any text r phone banking. I hope others join in this effort. |
Good thread. I'm about 10 miles from the GA border so I'm definitely in. I'm going to look into what more I can do today. |
I will be donating heavily. |
We will send each of Warnock/Ossoff $200. Better to send them the money upfront instead of weekly so they can better plan. That said, send what you can.
It wouldn’t surprise me if $400m is spent in state before Jan 5th. This feels like a tag-team cage wrestling match. |
I’ll donate too.
My sense is Ossoff has the harder race? Is that true? |
It seems highly unlikely that Ga is going to elect 2 R senators , especially when control of the Senate is line. All it means is trump gets to continue to be able to exert control over S republicans because they need his voters in January.
Of course, I will donate and write for both Warnock and Ossoff just as I did for this election. |
If anyone has family or friends in GA, reach out to them and ask them their voting plans. I have a step-sister, niece, and friends there. I promise to reach out. |
Sign up to volunteer with Fair Fight- they will need help with phone/text banking virtually and if you or anyone you know is actually in GA in person as well.

Thanks. Was just about to ask for this. My whole family agreed last night at dinner that we will do this for the next two months. Parents, teens, and even my 4th grader. |
As someone who lives GA-adjacent as well I feel like the main effort has to be in continuing Stacey Abrams efforts of registering new voters. We have to find all those 17 year old, 18 by January voters even if those numbers aren't huge.
We also need to really get out the word about these runoffs. Voter participation in runoffs is usually pathetic. People just aren't aware of the elections and the details (dates, rules, etc) around them. |
Do we think the fact that not one but BOTH senate seats are on the ballot will increase turnout? |
I actually think it's possible. Granted I probably live in a bit of an echo chamber of Democrats but I work in GA (live in SC) and all the Georgians I know are fired up and excited about their state turning blue. People are really proud. If we can harness this passion and keep the momentum going I think it can happen. |
OP here. It’s a good idea. I will match your way then. Here is an offer to my fellow DCUMers. If anyone else pledges a better donation plan by tomorrow night for this cause, I will match it. |
Signed up for this, but is this only for Georgians? |
I wouldn't put it past Trump to screw the Republicans. He may end up not really fully supporting either Senate candidate unless they really start to kiss up to him, which is probably not what they want to do. He's focused on Trump TV and his brand, what does he care about Senate control after January. |
