It’s not about the speed, dummies, as has been outlined multiple times in this very thread. It is about not clogging the left lane with cars. The speed limit could be 25 or 65; it’s irrelevant. Use the left lane for passing only. That’s the law. Ambulances and police cars dealing with emergencies don’t need your “I was obeying the speed limit” bs. |
Ahhh. I see. It all about your “right” to speed and break the law so you can get where you’re going faster while endangering the rest of us. We get it. Ambulance and police cars ... gimme a break. |
You’re an idiot and a fool and simply don’t understand logic and risk. Hope you don’t kill someone speeding to get to your destination 2 minutes faster. Again, it is not about the person being in the left lane, it is about the more dangerous of the two offenses dummy, and protecting vs. enforcing a petty law. |

Stay right pass left.
The alternator causes accidents. The Germans know to follow this one safety rule. And it prevents accidents. |
Why is cruising in the left lane so important to you? It’s against the law. What makes that law “petty,” exactly? |
Right but the alternator in this case is there person speeding to pass. I have never gotten the argument that sitting in the left lane is dangerous because traffic stacks up behind you so the person sitting in the left lane are the dangerous drivers. The dangerous drivers are the people speeding, weaving in and out of traffic, tailgating etc because that person is driving the speed limit in left lane. Thie wrong parties are being blamed for the dangerous outcome. (for the record, I drive almost never and I keep right except to pass on highways but that is because I don't want people to weave in and out and cut me off in the left lane. I would highly prefer that speeders and people doing the weaving were held accountable for their super dangerous actions) |
Doubling down on the stupidity, I see. |
Cruising in the left lane is not important to me, at all. That’s the whole point. That’s why it’s petty. I never said you should cruise slowly in the left lane. That’s your assumption. What I said was 1) that if you are traveling at the maximum speed limit, then you can’t be passed in the left lane without someone else breaking the law and 2) it is not worth the officer’s time pulling someone over for such an infraction (unless they are going dangerously slow). I also never said that you should just “hang out” in the left lane. That’s drawing a false conclusion and once again failing to use logic and intelligence vs. emotion. |
Have you read the law? |
Have you? It is illegal to exceed the speed limit. Do you dispute this? |
DP. Stop being obtuse. The whole thread is about “hanging out” in the left lane. That behavior is dangerous, against the law, and the reason why the OP got pulled over. Go start another thread about speeding if that’s your concern. |
|
The Park Police were out to harass her. This is a stupid reason to pull someone over- I have NEVER heard of someone being pulled over for this, even if it’s the general rule to stay right and pass left.
OP- sorry this happened to you. |
| It is safer to have all drivers follow the same conventions. Please stay right if you are traveling more slowly then other vehicles on the parkway. |

The people who cruise in the left lane, are the same people who walk slowly all over the sidewalk, trail, aisle of the store, etc.
There is an order. Following it is the safest for everyone. Do not linger in the left lane, or left hand side. A moving path/road is a happy, safe path/road. |
