Agreed. IMHO, on both a local and national level, the few remaining DA teams -- those that weren't accepted by ECNL -- will see many of their top players leave for ECNL. A few of the girls displaced from those ECNL teams will go to their club's B team, but most will go elsewhere, including those ex-DA teams. The result of all this disruption will be the ECNL teams will have more more talented rosters, and the ex-DA teams will still be good, but nowhere near as good before all of this nonsense.

Again, the older team at Arlington and even more so at FCV have no compelling reason to leave their team to join a weaker ECNL with the break-in period in their recruiting year or years. If you are an 03 and not committed, why leave unless you are not getting playing time and only if you can start on BRYC or McLean 03 - the only good 03 ECNL teams right now in this area. If you are an 04, why leave at all? FCV and Arlington are by far the best 04 teams in the area and unless the rosters break up, why leave to go to an inferior team and have to break into a new group of players with politics and oversized rosters? If you are on 05 - same as 04. 06 and younger is a different story. Not recruiting years and the survivability of the GAL starts to matter. The GAL's survival is less important the older the ex-DA players are. For 03 and 04 it only needs to get them through one year.

This is obviously an 03 parent willing to join a questionable long term destination because they think its best for their kid. Who cares about the 06s and whats good for club longterm. the GAL will likely fail like GDA.

Just listen to the nonsense you are writing. FCV 02-05 should players should leave a top 10 team in the country to join CCL level ECNL teams (two exceptions: BRYC 03 and McLean 02). Its not like we all don't know who is on these ECNL & DA rosters and the games are filmed and all over YouTube.

Ain't that the truth. There is so much mediocre youth soccer out there from the the ecnl and gda on down and there for all to see on you tube. We should all do ourselves a favor and watch more of it for the ugly truth and then maybe we would stop supporting these ridiculous leagues

You would be leaving your coaches. Wasn’t that the whole point to DA. Better coaching, better training and then yes better game competition. You get better with the team youre on and the coaches who train you, hence the training. Your Game competition is a small percentage of a child’s development. Do you think College players are good because of game day?

Sounds like parents and players are changing to fulfill their status quo.

Being the 7th best team in your division do you really feel so secure about how good your kid is? You’re about to find out how your kid benefitted from the region being watered down.

Now that ECNL is on top and everyone knows it kids will come out of the woodwork. Good luck to you but eliminating choice just made things clearer for LOTS of players.

It is clearly in ECNL's overall interest to expand and be accommodating (to say nothing of what the right thing to do is for a bunch of awesome kids who love playing soccer). There is no long or short term benefit to ECNL to being petty or vindictive right now. ECNL actually has the chance to fix what has been a broken model for decades. It isn't about them having a responsibility or obligation, it is about seizing on a great opportunity. Be gracious, grow the sport and most importantly, support happier kids. Seems pretty simple actually.

For as many times as you have ask this question your child must totally be top 4 in her position. You should have no problem relocating and starting.
