Which way does it skew? Higher SES means easier to get in, or lower SES means easier to get in?

I don't think anyone knows.
The idea is that higher SES means harder to get in because more prepping, more enrichment but really who know. It could be the easiest!

I think someone said last year they came in window envelopes.

Sorry, pp here. Low-SES and high-SES should be switched by definition.

You have it backwards, PP. "high SES" means high socioeconomic status or a low FARMS rate.

Sorry, PP, that means your child will be held back another year in 5th grade.
Seriously, people, just stop! Don't you have anything better to do with your lives, like getting a pedicure, or something?
FWIW, my child is also 99% on the nationally-normed CogAt, but this envelope obsession is insane.

But isn't it so insane as to be amusing? I mean, the envelope obsession is something you do to yourself. No one has to sit at home biting their nails waiting for the mail. It makes absolutely no difference if you find out at 1pm or 5pm or 8pm. This is a window into people's personalities and ways of handling mild to moderate anxiety and actually I find it kind of interesting.

I’m reading this thread for pure entertainment. My son got 91% so I knew he wasn’t a candidate. Now I’m here to enjoy the hysteria.

Yes, got the MCPS and National percentiles. Window envelope. Wait pool at Eastern, not recommended at Takoma Park. Was expecting outright rejection. GL to all!

Rock View is the outlier--it houses an autism program, which skews the test scores. 48% FARMs is barely enough Focus to reduce class sizes.

Isn't it crazy to think that your child tested better than 91% of all kids his or her age and still isn't good enough for the program. My kid has 94% across the board and likely won't get in but friends in other parts of the country think this is just craziness.

Yes I am anxious. I sent an older child through our local middle school so I know what’s coming, and I think it’s not going to work well for the younger child. So to calm my anxiety and give me some real information, could anyone let me know if both acceptances and non-acceptances are arriving today or only acceptances?
