Move into intersection when turning left - WHY don’t people do this?

When people do this, they often turn their car left (impeding oncoming drivers) or do some weird right hook like a truck (impeding traffic in the lane next to them).

Rarely do people pull straight forward.

OP, if it bothers you (and your supporters) that much, try a different route or leave earlier.

for those that don't know, when the light turns green the first cars gets to make a left turn in front of oncoming traffic who just got the green single also from the other direction it generally works since the oncoming traffic needs time to accelerate from a stop

This is standard in Boston, except it's more like a game of chicken than a gentlemen's agreement.
