Ziplocs are single-use plastic and not environmentally friendly. They don't break down pretty much ever and we are suffering from plastic invasion in our environment. How about these from Amazon? The ycome with cute little message stickers for kids' lunches.

Anonymous wrote:Yeah, people are just putting down their grocery lists but do you know for a fact that it's cheaper than say Safeway or Giant or Trader Joes or Aldi? I buy everything at Costco but I have no idea if it's cheaper than other places. I just shop there because I hear that it's cheaper. With that said, the things that I think are cheaper than other places (except maybe Aldi not sure) are...

Gas
Beer (Miller Lite 36-packs)
Wine (Kirkland)
Organic Milk
Cheese Sticks
Eggs
Maple Syrup
Rotisserie Chicken
Steaks

But we buy all of our produce etc from there. I'm surprised so many families have trouble with the portion sizes of their produce that it goes bad before you can finish. We have a family of 4. Two parents and a 11 and 13 year old. No problem finishing bag of Brussel sprouts, bag of asparagus, bag of 5 avocados, pack of 3 cucumbers, bag of broccoli, some times we don't finish all the berries. But in general, we rarely have to throw anything away.

On the flip side, I don't know of anything specifically that I know is a bad deal. Anyone?

Still trying to absorb the Miller Lite purchase.

I would also like to know more about their humane practices or lack thereof. Their volume is such that their decisions would have a huge impact.

This is the brand I was talking about that's expensive at WF and you get a great deal on at Costco:

You can choose to believe them or not when it comes to mercury.

I buy seasonal items. They have huge mums for $11.00 each right now. I'll go back in a couple of months and buy a wreath, garland and a live tree(if they have them).

I also buy coffee (Kirkland brand roasted by Starbucks is my favorite), organic milk, chopped salad kits, yogurt, thier preparred shrimp cocktail tray, a rotisserie chicken, and cheese. Batteries and papergoods pricing is great. I also grab clothing items once in awhile.

I do end up spending too much everytime I walk in the store, but it's typically a very good value.
