I blame him. If he is saying that he as governor require a chaperone because he is afraid of sexual accusations, why is he limiting the chaperone to males only. If you buy his argument, which I don’t, a female chaperone would have worked just as equally as the male.

I understand caution in this #MeToo era. BUT - - The reporter would be shadowing him as he traveled to or attended campaign events. He would surely have a campaign manager, volunteers, or even a whole team with him. I can’t imagine there would ever be occasion that he would be alone with whatever reporter was shadowing him. It’s pretty clear that he just doesn’t want THIS reporter following him because she hasn’t given him positive coverage.

This Army Colonel was on the verge of being promoted to Brigadier General when the false allegations were made.

In the end, the jury awarded him a nice settlement (most of which he will probably never see), but if you don't think his life was hell during the investigation - you are crazy.
And, he never got the promotion.

This happens to be a woman who was falsely accused. She went through pure hell.
It doesn't matter if it is a man or woman. A false accusation is devastating.

Also, you may remember the case of the PE teacher in FCPS named Sean Lanigan. Not only HE went through hell, but so did his family and the community. His reputation was shot.
Not sure he ever fully recovered.

I vividly remember that horrible story. It’s astonishing to me that there are any male teachers left. My daughter’s 7th grade teacher was the nicest guy but he said he was so on edge all the time. He said he never, ever met with female students (for after school help, etc.) anywhere but the cafeteria or library - only places where there would always be other people around.
