He is guilty but I don't know if he would go to jail if he wasn't famous. It's a stupid crime that has no injured party.
He should have a record and he should have been given probation and community service, maybe with real victims of hate crimes. He should be fired too. |
Well, he was able to mobilize such attention and police resources because he was famous (and black and liberal and gay). Now he should pay the consequences. |
What is the point. He does more community service per year than any court would ask him to do. It's a waste. Move on. |
You must be joking. |
no i'm not why are you so obsessed, courts drop charges all the time... no victim no crime. |
There are multiple victims here, starting by whoever gets actually attacked by a hate mob next. |
|
| Is he paying his $130,000? |
If he doesn't, JAIL. |
For what? He forfeited his bail but I think it was only $10K |
The city of Chicago (rightfully, IMO) billed him for the overtime that went to the investigation of his fake ass story. |
yes, 10K |
I understand that he was both the victim and the perp. So he should pay the PD back its money WASTED on tracking his fake a** story down. He's killed his career anyway. No one will touch him. |
If you do that, you must do the same for every person that calls the police on an innocent person. It is also a waste of time/money. I would love to see Becky paying all those fines. |
look - the Illinois prosecutors bar association said that the dismissal, with its no strings attached terms "was highly unusual, not a statutory diversion program, and not in accordance with well accepted practices of State’s Attorney initiated diversionary programs. The IPBA supports diversion programs, and recognizes the many benefits they provide to the community, the defendant and to the prosecuting agency. Central to any diversion program, however, is that the defendant must accept responsibility. To be clear here, this simply was not a deferred prosecution"... in other words - HE is the one getting special treatment, not "Becky" - if charges were dropped and he admitted guilt as part of the deal that would be within the accepted practices of the prosecutor's office. but he's going around proclaiming his innocence and demanding an apology from Chicago PD. I think thats what is outraging people - like dude, have the grace to effing shut up after your well connected pals pulled strings for you. http://ilpba.org/announcements/7249825 |
