Duh. They don’t actually care what happened.

This. Important note: only the Republicans on the committee have subpoena power.

It's pretty bloody obvious that the pro Kavanaugh and pro Ford sides are entirely driven by their agendas and are populated by people who want to twist everything to fit their agenda. The twitter post is a perfect example. And almost everything written in these three threads on DCUM reflect it too. Look at how quickly people jump from Kavanaugh to notions of evil white men conspiracies. Look at how quickly people are to accept Ford's allegation despite it's riddled more holes than a cheese grater.

In trying to insult Dr. Ford, you’ve accidentally struck upon a truth: as a cheese grater has holes for a reason, so does Ford’s memory of her assault. It’s been explained about 20 literal times, but I’ll say it again: trauma creates strong memories with gaps. The memories aren’t wrong - do you really suppose that she would be mistaken as to who was grinding his pelvis against her and trying to take of her clothes - but there are missing parts.

It’s why her strongest memory of the assault is the boys’ laughter. It wasn’t even a big deal for them; they took what they wanted.

Did you watch his 30+ hours of testimony 2 weeks ago?
Yesterday he was there defending his reputation, his integrity and his livelihood. He was facing people who had called him “evil” and a “danger to all.” He was facing people who had proudly and publicly said, “I believe her” before hearing any testimony. He had every right to be angry. He had every right to show his fury at these ridiculous charges.
And, no, he could not adequately defend himself without showing his outrage. Had he done that, you folks would still say, “Look... he really is guilty. An innocent man would have more anger.”

Face it - NOTHING he did would please you.

This. So much this.

I honestly cannot believe some people think he should have somehow handled himself better. The man is being acused of sexual assault. I expect him to be angry and show it.

He is not presiding over a court case. He is defending his reputation.

Really? How about answering yes or no to yes or no questions?

How about NOT meanly asking a US Senator if SHE had a drinking problem? For which he apologized, so even HE recognizes that he did not handle himself well in at least that one exchange.

After receiving and reading a note that he seemed surprised by, and after a break called by the Republican chair, It's pretty clear to me that he was told that his behavior with Senator K didn't play well - (shock to him!) and that the break was called to convince him to apologize.

Remember those days when we looked down on developing countries for having high ranking officials with dubious backgrounds? Well the joke's on us now!

I don’t have a dog in this specific fight ... I just want to remove legal drinking age from your list.
First, he was never talking about himself. He had in mind older classmates. Go back and read it
Second, he never said he drank legally (I mean, one day at age 21 he did.). Many times he said/implied that he drank at age 17. He wasn’t trying to hide anything.

The legal drinking age in MD in 1982 was 18. It changed on July 1, 1982. If you were 18 before that date, perfectly legal. Drinking at 17 was not a big deal

I see him constantly. I don’t talk work.

Say thanks coach as I have been for a number of years, and ask what time he needs the kids at the next game.

I wouldn’t trust my child around an angry, entitled rapist, attempted or completed. I can’t believe you would put your politics ahead of keeping your child safe.

Who said anything about politics? Has he been found guilty of any of those things you mentioned? No, so can we say the same of your husband?

Indeed. Sadly so.

Of course she wouldn’t. I’ll wager there will be no sleepovers in the Kavanaugh house.

Found guilty: in a criminal trial no. What’s your point?

The constant refrain of no corroborating evidence is such a crock!

My husband isn’t a mean drunk who couldn’t even control himself in front of the Senate, with three credible accusations of sexual assault behind him. I wouldn’t trust that man around any of my children. Evidently you are willing to play with your kids’ safety.

Sure. You know these things. You are revealing yourself to be someone who lives by emotion and not facts.
Just because YOU don’t believe him, these are all lies. Sure.

Dp, but these are all easily proven lies he told yesterday.

PROVEN lies? You are kidding me. Tell me, how do you plan on proving them?

You are being ridiculous now. Those terms listed above have obvious crude meanings. He lied about what those terms mean. He is a serial liar as an adult, if nothing else.

To quote the famous Judge Judy, "Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining." Can I prove that he's lying? No, of course not, and he knows that. But I don't need to, because this is not a criminal trial. This is a test of character. If there's doubt, he doesn't get the job. He is not credible. He is not the right person for the job.

How long can his wife wait to quietly divorce him? Two years? Three?

Especially when they refused to subpoena anyone else, including the alleged witness.
