Don't really care too much about this issue, but why are you afraid of having women understand and acknowledge the "choice" they are making? Are you afraid they will see a little person with a beating heart and change their mind? Having been pregnant four times, those ultrasounds are no big deal and take a couple of minutes. The state already dictates a bunch of things about people's bodies...

That's really a decision for a woman and her doctor. No woman should be FORCED to have a dildo cam shoved up her vagina just to make you feel better. Imagine a 10 year old rape victim being forced to go through that. Appalling.

And I'm guessing you don't really care about this issue because you don't have a vagina or a daughter.

This is not and never has been an issue. He was chair of the Virginia Republican Party in 2006. He's lived in Virginia as far back as I can remember. HE worked onnHill before that. And attended college here too. He left New Jersey decades ago and never looked back. He and his wife live near Mt. Vernon.

PRECISELY. Terry McAuliffe is a New Yorker, then a resident of DC, before moving to VA. Lots of people are born in raised in states other than the ones they wind up representing. And that's all a-ok, as long as they're not Republicans. Just more examples of the constant liberal hypocrisy.

Hold on there, pal. I absolutely held my nose and voted for McAuliffe. The GOP ran Cucinelli who was a far-right-wing nut. Don't deflect. The original point about Gillespie is that when a native resident of NJ says he will fight to preserve "our" heritage he means he will make sure we keep statues like the one in C'ville that's become a lightning rod, attracting KKK and neo-Nazis from all over the country. Why is this appealing to conservatives???

I don't think it's appealing.....it's just that it isn't a major issue to most voters. illegal immigration and the state's soft policy is, however. Tomorrow will be interesting.

Gillespie certainly thinks it's a major issue. He is spending big bucks on mailers on that issue. Between confederate statues and immigration he is making this about identity politics, not about what he can actually do for VA. The fact that he is unwilling to say these things in person-- only by mail or tv ad-- should tell you all you need to know.

Oh that's rich after Northam's race-baiting commercial. Talk about identity politics. You can always trust the liberals to pull out the race card when all else fails.

Gillespie for the win in Fairfax. Many more GOP volunteers outside and twice as many signs.

Hillary came into New York from another state. Any problem with that?

Did she call 1/3 of the state "enemy territory" when campaigning in Syracuse or Rochester? Because that's what Gillespie is on record of saying about NoVa.

Her version was the deplorables.

Reduce benefits. Make localities enforce housing occupancy. Reduce ESOL teachers

I think that is a bad idea. We want as many abortions as possible because the majority are performed on women who don't want the kid. It is social welfare for a lifetime if female. Social welfare, police and prison costs if a male.

I think Gillespie wins today. Lots of morons in VA.

Dp and I wouldn’t care if a voter ID was required IF our state government ensured everyone could easily have access to one. Have employees of the state board of elections or the secretary of state’s office set up tables at grocery stores, gas stations, churches, and other places where people actually congregate. If you can prove your income is below a certain threshold or you receive certain government services or are a student or over 65, it should be free, otherwise no more than $10-$15. And if you don’t have a birth certificate, someone affiliated with the state would help you get the documentation you need to prove your identity. That’s the only way to make it fair - not the current system of go to the DMV when it’s open during regular business hours when lower income workers are likely to be, well, working, without the benefit of paid leave, and if you don’t have a birth certificate (often applying to poor and elderly African Americans ...) you’re basically screwed.

Of course, this endeavor would be quite pricey. But I’m sure it’s worth it to prevent the .000001% of “voter fraud” that exists right???

But somehow these poor and elderly African Americans managed to produce a birth certificate to get a social security number to be eligible for Medicare and Social Security. What are you talking about? There is no one here legally who does not need a government ID to function in our society. If they don't have one, how are they surviving? If they don't have one, all of these anti-Voter ID activists should be helping them get one and then helping them register to vote.

From dmv.virginia.gov
Virginia ID Fee
An ID card costs $2 per year (minimum $10; maximum $16.) You may pay your fees with cash, money order, check, check card or major credit card.

THIS. All of the wasted time and energy that anti-voter ID activists spend could so much more productively be spent on ensuring those without ID *get* ID. These activists could be driving those without ID to the DMV to make sure they obtain the needed ID. But no, they'd rather insist that making voter ID mandatory is unconstitutional.

1. People can do both.
2. In Virginia to get an ID card you need 2 forms that prove your identity and 1 that proves your residence. Not everyone has easy, immediate access to their birth certificate, and if you are disenfranchised in any way, what is the second form? Not a lot of poor people have Passports. Student or work IDs are not accepted as primary documents. I am sure for many it's impossible to see why this is an unfair obstacle but I suggest you try volunteering at your local homeless shelter or hospital and talk with the people you encounter. You will hear stories that will expand your understanding.

No incentive. If people were told they would be given $5,000 for a valid photo ID, everyone would suddenly have an ID and be able to vote.

No one has had to fight for the right to vote, so it has no value.

The polls consistently show Northam witha solid lead. He’ll win by a similar margin. This really isn’t up for debate. This is a blue state and the election is a formality. This is going to be a great night for Democrats!!!!!!!!!!!

Northam winning would definitely lift my spirits. It's depressing to think there are so many Rs, voting for the wrong reasons.

Polls undercount people afraid support for Gillespie will tar them as racists, when really they're just supporting Gillespie because of his willingness to confront gangs like MS-13. Gillespie +8.
