Unfortunate for you, not for us. But think you think it's so unfortunate, try riding on the paths DESIGNED FOR YOU, like a bike path.

But maybe that's a great idea- I'll start lobbying to get to cruise my SUV down the crescent trail. Or at least a golf cart. I'll hang out in the center, cruising at about 8mph, blocking the path, and you can see how you like it.

As for your last line- too bad. It's happening. Deal with it, eh?

You're telling me to deal with the fact that there are drivers who engage in dangerous and illegal behavior.

I do deal with it, every day, unfortunately. Mostly as a driver. It's indefensible.

I'm glad to hear that. And you all will get pushback until you can learn to be considerate of others. Enjoy the honking and swerving. Lol.

I, personally, don't define "consideration" as GTFOOMW. Maybe you do. I wish that you didn't, though. You're endangering everybody who uses the road, including your fellow drivers.

^^^or rather, I don't define GTFOOMW as "considerate".

I don't endanger fellow drivers. I WILL happily endanger obnoxious bike riders who choose to hold up traffic so they can indulge their selfish hobby. YOU are endangering others though, inconveniencing them, and making them late. And you don't seem to care.

Yes, you do.

No, you can't. They are putting their lives on the line while you're cozy and safe in your gaz-guzzler contributing to global warming.

What you should be doing is paying extra attention to the safety of bikers and pedestrians, ie all those who don't have a metal cage protecting them from a collision.

I drive a car, and that's what I do. Bikers never annoy me. I am concerned for them.

DP, they have a right to put their lives on the line. What pisses me off is they are putting *my* well being at risk, too. And every other driver's. I don't want to be the one responsible for hurting a cyclist. The mixing of cars and bikes is not safe. And irresponsible cyclist behavior exacerbates this. I see it EVERY day. Cyclists are highly selective about when and whether to obey traffic rules.

How are they putting your well being at risk? I agree that some cyclists are a-holes but they are assuming all of the risk.

They may not be endangering drivers' life and limb. But they are putting us at risk of being held responsible for injuring them. Or even killing them! Even if the police find a driver not at fault, a driver is going to have to deal with all the consequences of that. I can't imagine how it would feel to contribute to someone else's injury or death, even unwittingly. It's not right for irresponsible cyclists to put that on us. Our fellow drivers who are irresponsible, at least they are on equal footing with other vehicles. I.e. protected by a ton of steel, seat belts, etc. Cyclists, like motorcycles, are usually going to lose in an incident involving a car. Don't put me in that position.

It's almost like you guys have whipped yourself into a tizzy over nothing. Maybe try drinking less coffee.

Note to self: park in bike lane today.

Also schedule a repair appointment at your local body shop.

Drive safely and carefully, and you likely won't be put in that position.

Or don't drive at all. Because whenever you drive, you are potentially endangering everybody else on or near the road, whether they are in a car, on a bicycle, on foot, in a wheelchair, on a bus, or even in a house, store, or office.

Actually there is very little risk of ever being prosecuted for vehicular manslaughter. Hardly ever happens. So.... don't worry about it!! Don't even waste time thinking about cyclists- the police sure don't.

How odd. A Maryland driver pissed because the world has yet again failed to cater to him.

It's just not fair!

Apparently you are incapable of reading and comprehending just the title of this thread.

A Maryland driver is the bitchy little fairy princess who is bawling his eyes out because it just isn't fair.

I'm sure the police will put all their top detectives on it. Because you are important.

We'll see. Have fun vandalizing all the cars in DC till you find mine. I'm sure the police won't notice that
