LAMB closing its existing campuses and consolidating to one campus

We are a new LAMB family who doesn't know much of what's going on. So, all 4-5th graders are moving to WR for 17-18 year? Then, are they hoping to combine the following year into one campus?

By engaging in name calling first? Nice way to get started at lamb.

Where is the Walter Reed campus?

That people are in a huff over this shows that some of the poor communication is more a case of parent entitlement.

A years lead is insufficient time. People bought and sold houses based on the location of lamb. Any mention of school sponsored buses is treated like evidence of treason. It's exhausting what parents are demanded to do on a regular basis. BreakthRough Montessori let's parents drop off students at the curb instead of parking in a sketchy neighborhood and walking them inside. Yu Ying and Mundo verde sponsor buses (Mundo even subsidizes them!). Lamb expects parents to arrive at work late or preferably, not work at all. Now we can't be trusted to know (1) that we are moving and (2) that the move is permanent and far away from the current schools. Straight up RIDICULOUS.

I used to walk my kid from our house a few blocks from there to Bridges when it was in that "sketchy neighborhood," and I am laughing at you as I read this. I did sometimes drive her if it was pouring rain; the biggest problem I had was not stepping in puddles on the way back to the car.

LAMB has one portion of the large Delano Hall building that will house DCI.

It's less than a mile due north of LAMB's Missouri campus. The school applied for space when Walter Reed began the base closure process before it leased space at South Dakota.

Has anyone heard anymore on this topic? A parent told me last week that it's likely going to happen for the 2018-19 school year. I'm okay with that as I think it makes sense for the school long-term, but I'm just hoping they'll let all parents know as soon as they can. It seems like there are always some parents "in the know" at LAMB and a lot of others who are not.

What's likely going to happen? Moving the whole school?

I would be unsurprised if they ended up taking the entire Perry street campus.

If they were going to do that why would they be moving 4th and 5th next year to Walter Reed?

Because there's not room for everyone at SD now. And because they have to pay for Walter Reed.

Consolidating to one campus for 18-19 would involving selling Missouri, selling LAMB's portion of Walter Reed and finding someone to pick up their lease at SD for 18-19 and 19-20, in addition to securing financing and DCPCSB approval to obtain a new building.

No. they can get out of Perry Street lease any time. And as for their other spaces, they would be incredibly easy to lease out, likely for a profit.

One building would be awesome. Anyone know the scoop on Kingsbury?
