Meh. Even rec coaches will demote a kid from the A team to the B team if he misses practices.

Maybe that happened when you played baseball in the 60s, but neither the NVYLL or Bethesda Rec does that.

Nope. Saw it happen on a NVYLL rec team two years ago.

Nope. NVYLL bylaws prohibit changing the rosters once they are set. Lay off the eggnog.

And what's wrong with that? They should be demoted or cut if they dont show the proper commitment or skill set.
Anonymous
We're talking about missing a practice for a school commitment, not proper commitment or skill set.

The point is that it cannot happen in NVYLL. Once a player is on a roster he must stay on that team. Many club kids miss most practices and still play. There are also minimum playing time rules. None of this is new to NVYLL and have been rules for years. Funny how NVYLL enforces roster integrity clubs do not.

Roster isn't official until the first game. Demotion happened before that.

Technically. It a demotion if he was never on the roster that is called making the upper B team

Yes, because he will be mad that you are no longer willingly giving him your money. But he has your credit card on file and you will have to fight with credit card company to stop Madlax from charging your card automatically months after you're gone.

That's why they call it "Madlax for Life".

Is that really the best you can do? You're the idiot giving this guy your money when there are comparable and better alternatives. When your son is in HS and the best players have left for other clubs, that's when you'll realize how foolish you are.

aren’t you clever? Some folks leave because it’s not fun, their kids don’t have the opportunity to develop or there are better travel team options. And folks discussing it makes ML bitter

Worst Travel Program Ever

The whole program should be disbanded. They treat everyone like trash. Their own players, opponents, referees. They are a disgrace to youth sports.

Interesting theory however no player is ever cut from the team. They will find a way to place your son as long as the CC# is valid. Sure they will put close to 30 kids on a team but they will find a spot.
