Agree. While I could see making a joke or saying something super brief to address elephant in the room, that monologue was just too much. It seemed like she was trying to milk the applause and cheers far longer than was genuinely happening in the studio. The whole thing was very awkward and I don't think it made the situation, or her handling of the situation, any better.

So Kelly made a dig at Michael on air by asking him to weigh in on an article about divorce since she has no experience with divorce and he's been divorced twice. Meow.

LOL. I think the divorce comment was not a jab, but a major stabbing and she is trying to make people question his character even more. People will google and there was a whole lot of dirty laundry that turns up. Possible abuse? May have filmed his SIL dressing? Possibly lots of cheating? I never really googled him until this whole drama and I really liked him before. I don't think any of the show stuff is his fault, but the allegations during his divorce and possible pay off make me side eye him and I know think he might just be an evil creep.

+1 I can't believe how badly they treated Kelly, who makes them a lot of money. I hope she gets a bunch more digs in at him before he leaves.

I see nothing wrong with the divorce comment. He HAS been divorced, publicly acknowledged. So who cares? She was stating the obvious.
I don't see his appeal. I don't like him on GMA (and I'm a big George Stephanopoulous fan so I watch it sometimes). I really can't understand why they wanted him at all, no less full time.

George doesn't need GMA. GMA needs him. He and Amy are the only ones equipped to do real news and interviews. Even Robin can only do fluff.
