I haven't seen this, I think everyone just bashes FS HS |
woah calm down there with the lies |
I agree. I have a more favorable impression of people there than them then of the Marshall boosters. The latter hype Marshall, get their nose out of joint if someone points out the better performance of other schools, and speak ill of other schools in Falls Church. |

| We have friends with children at FCHS. They are happy with it. USNWR ranked it as well. |

Rarely do I hear anyone except those from really low FARM schools arguing how terrible busing would be - especially if it is busing of kids into those zones. The reality is that much more of that needs done but the wealthiest zones block it from happening. That's probably because you talk more than you listen. There is very little support for this around here." Hmm - do you happen to be at a relatively low FARMS school? I am a lurker here normally as we consider a VA move. On the MD school board there is a fair amount of support for evening out the concentrations of poor kids more so that especially in the near the beltway areas you do not have schools with like 10% and under FARM rates while others just a few miles away have majority FARM rates that risk overwhelming the school. |
It's not marshall boosters, you are very dim |
And some of them are unusually crude as well. |
| Isn't sh**ing on Marshall because its graduation rate isn't quite as high as Madison, McLean, Langley, and Oakton a little like calling someone dumb because he's only in the middle of his class at Harvard? By any national standard, Marshall easily qualifies as an elite public high school. It's ranked like 400 out of 25,000 in U.S. News. Perspective, people. |
This is a local forum. |
And my point is that we shouldn't lose perspective on the fact that our local schools are so outstanding that being sixth in FCPS is still pretty fantastic. |

Marshall is no better than seventh, behind TJ, Langley, Madison, McLean, Woodson and Oakton.
Sometimes it isn't even rated that high. U.S. News rates Marshall as the 11th best school in the county. The Washington Post Challenge Index pegs it as the 15th best in the county, and it would be 16th if TJ were included. |
I see what you did there. But, no, Marshall is not considered the sixth best high school in Fairfax County. Nice try. - FCPS parent |
In 2015, Marshall High ranked better than 96.6% of high schools in Virginia. It also ranked 3rd among 28 ranked high schools in the Fairfax County Public Schools District. http://www.schooldigger.com/go/VA/schools/0126000535/school.aspx |

Can't say I've ever heard of Schooldigger. Have heard of US News, which rates Marshall as 11th in the county, OK but definitely middle of the pack.
