Renata is Latin.
Means re-born. People usually name their children Renata (girls) or Renato(boys) in South America after a difficult pregnancy or when the child is born with a illness and overcomes it. |
I didn't like my name growing up, Tara. I like it well enough now--pronounced Tare-Uh, not Tar-Uh. I was born in 1978, and know that it was common enough, but there weren't a lot of kids with that name where I grew up. I could never found anything personalized... None of the "Property of ______" stickers that were so popular when I was a kid.
My friends as a kid were named Kerry, Elaine, Lisa, Carla, Desiree, Crystal, Kristine, Jessie, Kelly and Jenny. Boys were Chris, Clinton, Craig, Charlie, Matt, David, Mike, Joel and Steven. |
What origin is Renata, it is very pretty. Does it have a nick name?
My cousin goes by Neti |

In my native language (Slavic, but not Russian), the nickname from Alexandra is Sasha. |
Magda |
What about Frances (female) or Francis (male)? Both of my grandmothers were Frances. It's very traditional and I love it. Didn't name my daughter Frances because DH didn't want to, but I love the name.

Love Frances for a girl. Though I have a friend who named their daughter that, and they call her "Frankie". Not a fan. |
I was born in 74 and my name is Sandra, too. Used to go by Sandy but when I went to college, I decided Sandra was more grown up. Now the only people who call me Sandy are my family back in the midwest. |
