I didn't want one, and was glad he asked me before he went out and bought one.
My diamond wedding band was $3500, though we paid less b/c the jeweler was a friend. I don't wear it either. I love DH's wedding band, and he used to wear it all the time, but I'm not sure he knows where it is now. The four kids are enough evidence of our bond for now! |
$800.00, dollars |
About 1.7 carats, v or vvs1, I think the color is E. I knew way more about all this when I was hoping to get engaged. I don't really wear much other arm/hand jewelry, so I was happy with this, as it had a nice "pop" but didn't get in the way of daily life and still doesn't, one 2-year-old later.

I think it was in the 20k range, but I don't know for sure. |
| Don't know, don't care. |

About 10K.
I turned down a 30K ring because I didn't want a diamond. He could have well afforded it but I agree with what PPs have said about how the demand for diamonds was created. |
Lots of money doesn't mean big ring. Mine's fairly small, but the quality is very high. |
You didn't see the receipt when you took it in for an independent appraisal? Mmmmm-kay. |
You took your loved one's present for an appraisal? Mmmmm-kay. |
Me, too. |
I guess yours isn't insured. That's ok if you want to take that risk but DH and I wanted to make sure it was protected. |
| I don't have a ring. I really really wanted one, but we just couldn't afford it at the time. We've been married for 6 years, and now I like just having my band. But that doesn't stop me from checking out your sparklers! |
I know couples that have split with that many kids. |

1.7 carats, good quality/cut/whatever that jargon is .. on a simple platinum band. Round stone.
Just got it insured-- appraised for $18k, the receipt we took with it (we've been married 5 years, I think he purchased in 2008?) said he paid $12.5 out the door... I love it. It isn't HUGE, but I think it looks good on my hand and basically, I love it and still catch myself staring some days
