how much was your engagement ring?

Honestly I've never asked.

My step-grandmother left me hers in her will. Large emerald cut diamond. The band had my grandparents' names engraved on the inside. It was too big for DW's finger so we cut off the band and turned that into the wedding ring. Appraised for $50,000.

And something I forgot to mention, DW was in law school at the time. Before I gave her the ring, her classmates would show off their new rings to her. Once she started wearing that ring, no one showed her their rings any more.

About the equivalent of a herd of rare, Andalusian cattle and a kilo of Northern Lights with the crazy purple hairs. And he brought my mom a new crockpot!

$650 for the engagement ring. I bought my wedding ring because he was a student at the time and our finances would be combined anyway. Wedding ring was $750. The engagement ring was at a going out of business sale and the wedding ring was at an estate sale yet they look like they could be a set. I am sentimental, see these as the rings we got engaged with and married with, and can't imagine wanting to upgrade. Although it's been 7 years since we got married, I have never gotten around to getting them appraised or insured.

.87 carat ideal cut I VS1 set in a gelin & abaci yellow gold tension setting. I picked it out and we spent around 4k total. I've had it for 13 years now and it still doesn't look dated and is a bit unique. I do wish I had gone with a slightly higher color, maybe an F or G. The diamond isn't yellow, but it's not bright white.

$12 a fashion ring from Macy's. Upgraded to lab grown diamond which i love. Wedding bands are heirlooms. 20$ to get them sized.

I think I love you.

I dunno, maybe $200?
It's not a diamond but a fairly ordinary gemstone.
I love it. I would never "upgrade."It meant a lot to me that he went out and bought a ring since he hates shopping and such things.
I took it off for surgery and when I was so pregnant with swollen hands I could not wear it. Otherwise it is on 24/7/365.
Don't you guys get nervous walking around wearing tens of thousands of dollars on your hands? I hope these rings are insured!

I got my grandmother's ring, so free to me. An heirloom from the 1940s, and it is stunning. Appraised at about 4000.

My mother-in-law switched a diamond she wore as a pendant out for a CZ and gave DH the stone.
It was appraised at 2K almost 20 years ago.
It is 1 carat.
