how much was your engagement ring?

1 carat diamond, E color, GIA certified, bought loose.
Platinum setting designed by me, set at little jeweler's.

Total: $6K
Same design, metal and diamond quality seen at Cartier's: 20Keuros

While I love my ring and the input I had, I regret not knowing about blood diamonds at the time, and wish I had bought a star sapphire instead. They're much more expensive, however, and perhaps they too are traded by violence?
