Neighbor parking in front of house

This is really rude. If it were me I would for sure start parking in front of their house, just to remind them that it can go both ways.

It's Rude, especially because we have kids. It's not fun we we have a car load groceries. Being neighborly would mean leaving, at least, The spot directly in front of my front steps empty.

If you want toive in an urban area, having a modicum of common courtesy is required to keep relations positive.

Also, it is poor form to let your neighbors clear a space of snow the take that space when it is obvious that another has done the work.

Don't start this shit about "saving" the space you shoveled out. Every person shoveled out a space. That's how they all get cleared.

OP, they are within their "rights", but yes it's rude.

If it really bothers you, I would park my car in front of their house every single time they park in front of yours.

Sprinkle birdseed in that area.

I don't agree with space saving, but actually, if you take someone's spot and s/he has to go shovel out another one, then they've done TWO, so every person didn't shovel one out, did they? And some people take a long time to get motivated to clear out a spot, so what is the uber driver supposed to do?
Taking someone else's shoveled out spot is again, technically legal but so very rude and selfish....

I like this idea! Put a bird feeder(s) as close to the edge of your property by the parking spot as possible.

Anyone who takes a shoveled out space reserves their right to a proper *shoveling in*. Chicago style.

If you have dog, let it poop next to their car so that they'll step in it.

This is what I did. Even deposited my dogs scoops there.. They still parked there and complained I did not pick up my dogs poop in my own yard. They finally moved. Thank goodness. Still do not know why they they felt it was ok to park in front of our yard but not theirs. They actually had more parking than us. Weirdos!

I'm guessing the guy had a small penis. They tend to act out, and be prone to silent temper tantrums quite a bit more. Poor babies, the world is never quite right to them.

My neighbor across the street from my driveway has his own driveway (that is in the shape of a P and can fit 3 SUVs easily) and three car garage. He lives there with his wife, they two of them own 7 cars, not a typo. They refuse to park any one of their 7 cars in their driveway or their garage. EVER. so they park it directly across from my driveway and all along the street (the street only has parking on one side, the other side is "No Parking" signs by the city because it is so narrow. We've lived here for 5 years, we have politely asked them to not park it in front of our driveway and explained why and they said yes but never ever have. The reason I can't stand that they do this is because it is so difficult for me to turn right or left out of my driveway to go ANYWHERE without coming super close to hitting their cars. I have to do a 3 point turn practically every time I leave. And there is no where for me to park on the street, or for a visitor to park on the street, because their 7 cars take up the majority of the on street parking. It is really incredible.

If you're in FFX County, cars aren't allowed to park within 10 feet of the driveway apron. A county zoning inspector told me about this when we were having problems with boarding houses in the neighborhood. Whenever one of their cars was parked within 10 feet of our driveway apron, I'd call the police non-emergency number and they'd send a police officer out and ticket it. We still had them parking in front of our house but at least we could easily get in/out of the driveway. Cars also must be parked in the direction traffic is flowing. One guy got 3 tickets in one weekend. You'd think he'd learn to park the right direction after the first ticket.

If you're feeling especially nasty, and there is one car that they don't drive, you can also report it as unattended/abandoned.

They even tell their visitors to park in "their" driveway. The only time we get to use it is when they go on vacation-- assuming that their house sitter doesn't get there first!

Is this for real? Isn't this some sort of illegal?

In Moco a car is not abandoned unless it has a flat tire, expired tags, broken windshield etc or literally looks abandoned. If tags and sticker are good and it is in running condition it can stay parked in a legal area.

I live in Bethesda and people come weekday mornings, park their cars in front of my house , wait at the bus stop and take the bus to the metro (I asked them one day-its free parking). I could care less, good for them, park in front of my house, idk.

I live across the street from a school with a tiny parking lot. Teachers park in front of my house every single school day. Who knew I should be pissed about it?
