Neighbor parking in front of house

| I live in a nice neighborhood where most residents park in their garages. One of my next door neighbors always parks one car in front of my house (never in front of their own house). Would this bother you? Isn't it weird? I'm thinking of asking them why they do it, the next time I catch them. What would you say to them? |

| What purpose would this serve? It's a public street and they have a right to park there. Maybe they don't want oil slicks in their driveway or in front of their house. |

| No, don't bother. We have the same thing where a neighbor has three cars and has plenty of room but parks in front of our house across the street. We have three cars too and it is a problem for us. When they have visitors, they park at our house and then get mad we park in front of theirs as we have no other space but to take another neighbor. We have said something several times and they do not care. |

| I'd be annoyed by it to. I think there's an unwritten rule that you park in front of your own damn house. I'd probably bring it up in a light hearted way, mainly because I'd be genuinely curious about why they do it. Nothing you can really do about it though. |

OP here. I haven't thought much about this, it just seems strange. Don't you agree that normal people would automatically park in front of their own house?  There are very few cars parked on the street, no difficulty finding curbside parking.

My neighbor does this every single day since we purchased 10 years ago. They've been here longer and I'm pretty sure she thinks its her right because she's always done it. Yes, it completely annoys me. And, yes, sometime I passive aggressively park both cars in front of the house just to annoy her and, yes, doing so puts a little smile on my face.
We will never bring it up because I'm positive she will never change. |
