Bye

Don't be rude. This person is making the best choices for their kid. I hope you are doing the same.

Yeah, I guess it sounds rude, but seriously, I am kind of tired of people threatening to move away. I'm finished trying to exhort people to put in some sweat equity, try again next year, etc. Yes, I am a lottery winner this year, but this is my third year of trying, and I never once said I was going to move to the suburbs.

I have no problems with people who get fed up and decide to quit, but nothing said here is going to change their minds. So, bye. One less person in the lottery crush. Good luck in your next school.

Any chance we will get in?

How does that work? I don't even think thats possible. My DC has a Nov bday and she couldn't be bumped up to PK4.... maybe she said that because she doesn't think the WL will get that high...

I would call Ms. Cortes and ask. I think their rule is turn 4 by Sept. 30, so you should be in the PK3 list.

Is it because there are mixed classes of 3s and 4s?

That's what I thought! I would be mad if they mistakenly put her in PK4 vs PK3 lottery. I tried calling Ms. COrtes but got vmail (which is already full so I can't leave a vm).

I would email her to get it changed then. That is really weird.

I just sent her an email. But now, what? We'd be at the bottom of the PK3 list?! Ugh!!

Personally, I would argue that we should be #20 (or #21 if they don't want to move the current #20) on the PK3 list. Please check back in and let us know how it goes! I can say this because I am PP with # in the 300s. I'm sure those with lower #s will disagree with me.

no

Actually, I wouldn't TOTALLY rule it out. Because of the number of spots going to non-sibs, there could be more movement. I entered in the lottery this year, but about 99% would have turned it down for our IB. I entered because there was no reason not to. And this was the first year the waitlist is not ordered by timestamp - in the past, the higher-up numbers on the waitlist were those that either stood outside or sat at their computers to get the app in right when it opened. Not the case this year. Good luck PP!!

I will find out what happened. I read that they have a mixed aged class but I still can't understand how she got waitlisted for PK4.
