Gee, I want the White House to be held accountable for invading the wrong country by mistake. It has yet to happen.

Not this poster. I well remember it. I remember exactly where I was when it was first reported. And you know what? Reagan did not blame it on a video.

NYT said that Benghazi was related to that video. OP's post showed that.

School, schmool. I did learn the term "redeployment" under Reagan - was confused at first because I thought when a president moves troops out of a country it is a "withdrawal." So much for the great communicator.

He's referring to Beirut. That's where we turned tail and ran. But as for Iran, that was the one where they took our hostages (under Carter) and then in return Reagan sold them missiles.

Yes, we know how well Carter handled that whole situation.

Do you remember the hostage situation? Were you even alive? It was awful. Inexcusable.

Yes I remember it well. I am not surprised that during a revolution we could lose an embassy. What I can't possibly fathom is why our President sold them missiles after that.

In fairness to Carter, Reagan had already promised Iran a bunch of goodies if they delayed the release of the hostages until after the election.

Lose an embassy? How about the hostages? I suspect that you were on a different side in that situation.
