S/O Isn't Christmas about Christ?

As a Hindu, I believe that Lord Vishnu who created this and all universes, did/does not make mistakes. Thus, I do not try and convert others because Vishnu has created them as well.

So I enjoy Christmas. And as I shop, I marvel at the diversity Lord Vishnu have created.

I always find it funny when people want you to accept Jesus. Why? If you think that your God created the world, why do you think that he messed up in creating Jews and Hindus and Muslims etc.

I think these people insult their own Gods, each and every day, by being intolerant.

I grew up in the Christian tradition and I agree with you about being tolerant. I'm not sure that all Christians do though.

No.

SMH

LMAO!!! PP wins dumbest poster of the year and most ignorant Christian!
Muslims, Jews and Christians worship the same God. Jews do not believe Jesus was the Messiah. Muslims do not believe he was the Messiah either, but a prophet.

I consider myself Christian and I also consider Jesus a prophet. Not necessarily the Messiah. Maybe I'm really Jewish?

Congrats! You are Unitarian- Universalist! Welcome to the club!

I thought so too - but I feel like Jesus is completely missing in the UU church. I feel like it would be fine to discuss his teachings (and those of other prophets) but that hasn't been the case at the two UU churches I've tried.
?? Jesus was at my UU church in Oakton.

They don't want to over emphasize Jesus to the exclusion of others, but yes Bible stories, Jesus stories, are mentioned. We have a celebration on Xmas and Easter. Bible stories are among those taught in religious education to the kids.

maybe i need to attend more than a few times and I will find the same at our local UU church. Its just so time consuming searching for a church!

How would you feel about having to listen to non-stop Hanukkah music when you shop? How would you feel if people pretending to be friendly asked if your child enjoyed lighting the menorah and acting like your child is being rude for looking at them funny as they do not know what it is (my child has no clue who Santa is)?

Why not just say Happy Holidays and be respectful to all?

I wouldn't take umbrage at being wished a Happy Hannukah. I'd smile and say thank you and "Happy Hannukah to you too."

Take umbrage if someone calls you an asshole. If someone says Happy Holidays, Happy kwaanza or Eid Mubarak, that is not a swear word.
