I think copying both will create accountability of the school to follow up. Often times, the school know who is "illegal" but ignores it. |
Nanny can use her employers address as grounds for school assignment change. The kids are not living at employers address, but morning commute and aftercare dictate the needs
Either way, in the same county, so what school you attend is not an issue. Just a question of how the county descides to divide the money. Parents should be looking out for their kids needs and showing an interest in their education. I would be worried if the opposite was true |
This is the real fear. If they did that, then the people who paid too much for their houses in those clusters would see their homes lose value. People are defending their money. |
OP, first things first. You need to follow this kid home from school and find out where he really lives. Perhaps you can encourage your kid to fake the friendship a little harder, in order to be invited over. You can arrange to pick him up, though that's not entirely necessary. Your child can covertly copy down the friend's address, as well as make notes of any other identifying details--car make, model and license plate, driver's license info, mortgage/rent status (this may require some snooping--you will have to teach him and have him practice at home). Credit card info can easily be obtained by offering to carry the mom's purse inside after she drives them back to her house. Obviously your child will need a smart phone in order to take quick photos for evidence. Bonus if your child can inquire casually about immigration status.
Next, gather your information into a dossier to present your case. You will want to retain a copy for yourself, perhaps to distribute to the media, if it becomes necessary. Deliver the dossier in person to the administration of the school, with copies posted to the superintendent, school board, etc. Preparing a Powerpoint-style presentation would also be beneficial. The principal will likely want to nominate you for some kind of service award for your efforts to police the boundary assignments of your child's school. Photos will likely be taken of you this day, so be sure to dress accordingly. Let us know how it goes!! |
Dcum! Way to try to selfishly bully the OP into submission!
Just keep showing your lying, cheating true colors. And I'll tell you right now, someone with your character flaws and questionable morals would definitely stick out in my neighborhood school! |
Actually it's the fault of the parent breaking the law. Wonder what school the kid went to mos ago? Perhaps they were kicked out of there for falsifying addresses too. |
There is no law against sending a kid to school. The one mother who was sent to prison for lying about address was homeless. Kid moved in permanently with aunt and continued to attend the same school. As that is where aunt lived.
And no, everybody in montgomery county does not want to attend Churchill |
What are you teaching your children. Judge others when you don't have all the information. Show no kindness to others. Only think about yourself. Greed.
You never know what happens in someone elses life. I had to put my child in a different zone due to her disability. I did it honestly and have been shown kindness by the school community. |
Typical DCUM. What's mine is mine!
Honestly, I have not read one logical explanation as to why the OP should get involved. "Rules are rules" is not a compelling argument to me when rules are enforced so selectively anyways. Besides that, I would rather have an out of district student who is academically inclined than the knucklehead down the block who stays in trouble. See...that is the most ridculous assumption that people make about it. Sure, the quality of the school is what factors into property values in that cluster. The common "indicator" of this quality is FARMS and test scores. People are assuming that the out of district student is poor and dumb - or at least poorer and dumber than the kids already at the school. That is not true in most cases and ignores the significant point that education is important in that family because they sought a better school. As I said before, assuming that this kid is a decent well behaved student, you would have to be some kind of person to out your DC's friend - especially if the impact on your DC in outing the friend is negative. |
Are we even sure that this family doesn't have a COSA? I would mind my own business. |
The OP is sure of nothing. |
yup, a busy body speculating, guessing and musing -- defines a fool |
I have not read through the entire thread, but, OP, are you serious????
You really would "turn in" this family, out of principle? Shame on you. Ridiculous. Mind your own damn business. |
I can do whatever I want and no one will report me! they should myob. Cheating, stealing, lying on forms, not paying taxes, etc. Just myob and let me be! |
Yes because cheating, stealing and tax evasion are exactly like trying to navigate a decent education for your child when the government has failed in their duty to provide a quality public school education to all. The only reasonable thing to do is to send your kid to a crappy school. Your kid may not learn as much or get into a decent college but you can say you are a good person!!! |
