Honestly, I have not read one logical explanation as to why the OP should get involved.  "Rules are rules" is not a compelling argument to me when rules are enforced so selectively anyways.  Besides that, I would rather have an out of district student who is academically inclined than the knucklehead down the block who stays in trouble.  See...that is the most ridculous assumption that people make about it.  Sure, the quality of the school is what factors into property values in that cluster. The common "indicator" of this quality is FARMS and test scores. People are assuming that the out of district student is poor and dumb - or at least poorer and dumber than the kids already at the school.  That is not true in most cases and ignores the significant point that education is important in that family because they sought a better school.

As I said before, assuming that this kid is a decent well behaved student, you would have to be some kind of person to out your DC's friend - especially if the impact on your DC in outing the friend is negative.  [/quote]
