Child's friend confessed family faked living in our good school cluster

The MYOB posters are crazy. Life may not be fair but we do have rules and people give up things to live by those rules. The family OP knows about has decided they are better than everyone else and can make it up as they go along.

Yeah, I found out that my neighbors let their nanny's friend use their address to send her kids to our neighborhood school. The rub is, these neighbors don't think the school is good enough for their own kids and got them COSA'd to another school.
I thought about reporting them, then I thought, here's a nice immigrant family that is just trying to do the best for their kids, so I let it be.

If she's a middle schooler and has already confessed to one friend, she's probably told others. Sounds like an unsustainable situation.

Growing up there was a car accident at lunch time with some 'local' kids. It winds up some of them actually were not local and parents could not be reached quickly.

The school district sent out notice to all students that they had a 2 week window to withdraw if they were not residents without consequences. After that 2 weeks, they would prosecute for back tuition.

More than 10% of the students were pulled. Can you imagine what your school could do if class size was small? Maybe they would need 1 less trailer?

It is your business when it impacts your children.

What if they rob a bank to do the best for their family? They sre thieves and I would report them in s heartbeat. I am so sick of hearing that cbeating and lying are fine if it helping your children.

Do you think you can be honest with your own child and tell them that you reported their friend? It may have been that kid's parents wrongdoing that put the child at risked to get torn away from friends and kicked out of school but you pulled the trigger. You have no idea what the ripple effect will be for that child. Don't do it.
