Agreed. But then if I were Palin, I don't think I would have run for VP, given the scrutiny my daughter would have been subjected to. It really bothered me when I found out later that Palin's daughter had been holding Palin's baby that night on stage at the convention probably to disguise the fact that she was pregnant. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been for Bristol, wondering when it would become obvious to the public.

Of course, I've never been in that situation so maybe I would have decided to run. I'm sure it would be quite tempting. But I like to think I'd be worried enough about the impact on my kid to not do it.

This is where you are wrong. Sarah is a believing Christian, she is well aware that every single person on Earth is flawed...even herself and her family. She does the right thing by not aborting the helpless baby. She answers to God and doesn't give a crap what non-believers think since they are unaware of their place in creation. She does her best to please God and God raises her up with wealth, influence, physical beauty, a healthy body, a healthy..handsome..loving..sexually heathy family. God does this to confound and frustrate foolish people.

God does not make believers beautiful. This is your delusion. It is very creepy.

I want to see his taxes because (a) it is by now traditional that candidates make them public, (b) it will give us some idea of what conflicts of interest he might have in dealing with future tax laws, and (most of all) (c) to see an honest-to-goodness example of how our tax laws treat a really rich citizen.

Yes, I think his biggest mistake was Palin. Also, I don't think the daughter's "managed fine" and would be very concerned about the direction of her life (and her son's), if I were Ms. Palin.

you misunderstand. God has different purposes for his followers. All are not beautiful physically, like Sarah. God loves to confound and render lovers of this World foolish since in the end his will... will be done. People who hate Sarah Palin are hostile to the people who take the Bible literally and are not ashamed of Jesus and God. The people who doubt the word of God in the Bible often times consider themselves as "intellectual" and "with-it". God loves to humble those people and raise up unlikely believers in front of everybody. A lightening rod like Sarah is useful to God ...he will shower her with happiness, love, family, health, good positive vibes, wealth....right in front of the so called "smart" but actually miserable "elite". Oh, I understand quite a lot. I understand that there is a false Christianity which believes that God is more generous on earth to his faithful, whether it is wealth or beauty or health. The Ryan VP pick makes me think that Republicans have given up on getting a Republican in the Presidency in 2012. I'm guessing they are hoping for 4 more years of Obama, with conservatives controlling the House and Senate, and then pretty much rejecting any possible Democrat solution to anything in an effort to have a much much better Republican nominee in 2016.
