News flash; every working adult has the same issue.

This. My spouse and I both had to work today, though thankfully from home. We each took a half day of leave so that we could also parent, shovel, and in my case, sleep because I'm sick.

Working from HOME and saying ‘this.’
God Karen, just admit you don’t care if they are in a different situation.

I’m a DCPS teacher and I hope we go back tomorrow. I live in DC and the major roads are pretty much fine. Side roads aren’t great but passable. Teachers can take leave if they need to, and students can be absent if they can’t make it in. I’m guessing it’s open on a delay and they say absent students will be excused

Did you not read the PP? They were saying it was "out of bounds" to expect teachers to wfh for records day because they are "people too who have to clear snow, provide childcare, feed children, etc."

My point is I also had to work today while also providing childcare, feeding my kids, and shoveling snow. AND I'm sick and still got up at 6am to work until noon before taking any leave because I had work to do.

Eff you and your "God Karen" business. The only person here without a heart is YOU.

Could they at least announce what they are going to do? Why is it taking so long to make this decision?

Is this because DCPS adds days on at the end of the year?

Metro is running with 30 minute delays. Only 4 bus routes are running. No way my high schooler can make it to school. I hope they’re closed again.

I don’t think they have made any announcement yet.

Where are you seeing that? I am having trouble finding any info on DCPS closing.

I think it was a prediction.

Agree - at this point just make a decision. There's no more precipitation coming, they know what the temp is, and they know this snow is hard to shovel, heavy, and crusty.

Just let us know.

You mean you had to actually PARENT? A job YOU signed up for? You deserve a medal! Hero of the year!

I will be super irritated if they wait until the morning to make an announcement.
