So what? It’s still a terrible color on her. |
|
Wow, she was quite the bait and switch. Campaigned as a moderate democrat, and is raising taxes on just about everything.
Can anyone here provide a solid case for why the new legislation is good for the citizens of the state? |
She campaigned as an empty bucket that the Democratic party will pour policy into. |
|
Dems always have to clean up after Republicans fvk everything up.
|
+1000 more taxes really?! Come on. |
| The proposed new taxes are really disturbing. She’s going to create the California effect (everyone with money leaving). Meanwhile NC, SC, WV are lowering taxes while VA raises taxes - making VA comparatively undesirable. |
exactly zero rich Virginians will move to WVA |
If anything, we’d move somewhere with higher taxes. Like CA.
|
That depends on what is “rich” and who these tax increases apply to. It would be very very easy for my wife and I to pick up and move to the WVA panhandle along with our 350k HHI. That day looks closer than ever. |
More like the billionaire donors (Michael Bloomberg) |
No but they are indeed leaving the state. |
The taxes alone won’t make someone who has strong ties to the state decide to leave, but they will absolutely have an effect on people who were already thinking about leaving or people thinking of moving here. Someone with one foot out the door already will probably be gone after these laws pass. Like, I love CA because the weather is nice etc, but I will never move there because of the politics of that state. If I already lived there I might stay due to inertia. |
We're not talking about ICE here. |
I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. These are, at this moment, just a few of the 100s of bills introduced in the legislature. Whether they move, and whether she signs them into law, remains to be seen. |
Buh bye! |
