I no longer shop at stores which have gates trapping you. I don't need to feel like a criminal shopping (Walmart, Burlington, Home Depot). I also don't shop at places that trail me around the store like target and CVS. Places that have been rude to me and treated me poorly like Home Depot and Target, and CVS.
I refuse to use Labcorp ever again. I've never used lyft or uber because millennials recreating the taxi is just stupid. I won't use airbnb because you can't sue for the many cameras they have watching you. These companies are disgusting. I work very hard for my money and I'm careful were I spend it and to which countries my money will go to. I avoid "made in china" as best as I can and its pretty easy to do if your careful. |
My daughter works for them and has been on strike at her store! |
About 10 or 15 years ago, health insurance companies were mandated to cover birth control. Hobby Lobby has religious owners and didn't want to offer BC to their female employees and took it to the Supreme Court. They won the right to exclude BC (some, all - not sure). I realize people can decide for themselves whether to work there or not, but I didn't like the precedent that was set. Also for religious reasons, HL is closed on Sundays. I purposely threw my business to Michael's and JoAnn's over the years, because I didn't want to help keep a company in business that wasn't open all weekend, which is when I usually had time to shop. I don't do a lot of crafting now, and my house is decorated, but when I need material or to have something framed, I try Michael's or a local shop first. HL does have good selection. Holiday paper plates in 20 designs. Dozens of "themed" aisles for home decor - beach, rustic, country, pink ballet, sports, and on and on with SO many items to choose from such as framed pictures, lamps, book shelves, decor items. HL has a large fabric selection, party theme items and every craft supply you could need. Want to decorate your front porch for a holiday? HL will have 50 or more things to choose from, whether Spring, RW&B, Fall, Christmas, etc. It's a clean store and their prices are affordable. But I hate religion having influence on public policy and I like the convenience of being able to shop on Sunday. I don't hard boycott HL, but I throw 80% of my business in this area to their competitors. |
| I don't blacklist any company for political reasons. That said, almost all my shopping is on-line. I didn't visit a single store this Christmas season. I'll shop for price at Temu and for quick delivery and better selection at Amazon. I won't buy coffee at Starbucks because I can make a better latte' at home for less than 50 cents, exactly how I like it. I don't eat at McDonalds (except breakfast), Burger King, Wendy's, etc because their food is garbage. I do eat at Chic Fil A. |
Well then you are not an American because Home Depot not only is a treasonous company it supported police killers and the guy that planned a coup against the US government and they literally sell your data to the US government and survallence you fool |
You can't return prescription drugs no matter where you buy them and why would their return policy matter to you for drugs? |
That's you of course? OMG, just listen to yourself. All the employees at retail stores who have to suffer the likes of you wish they could lose your business and everyone else like you. If only they could get so lucky. |
You have no understanding of what this thread is about. It's about boycotting companies and the reason for doing so. No one is interested in your astute knowledge of how the petroleum industry works. Imagine you can have a very lively discussion about Venezuela right now. So why don't you find a site that will be thrilled to have your expert opinion. |

You don't care that the employees of other stores you frequent have to work Sundays to accommodate your shopping habits? You boycott a store for "religious reasons" because they honor giving their employees Sunday off? You know, there was a time when the majority of retail stores were not open on Sundays. |
They gained mine so that’s ok. |

It's still common to be closed on Sundays in many European cities. |
What do you mean by gates trapping you? I’ve not experienced this so far. |
| Mom's market. When they weirdly backed that late term abortion lady who peed in a bag to spend all night protesting a bill outlawing late term abortion involving dismemberment I was like GROSS. BYE. |
