Never heard of him.

He's apparently a state Congressman in Texas. Not even a national player. How would my not having heard of him make he a troll, idiot? And what has he done to make him worthy of highest office?

He hasn't done much yet. But he's 36 years old. At that age Barack Obama was a newly-elected state senator. Talarico just has a ton of potential.

I apologize, sincerely. He was mentioned in detail on page 7. You posted on page 8 with an abrupt "Never heard of him" and I attached a snarky tone to your words, instead of a curious/neutral tone.

I’m a right-leaning Trump-hostile independent. Beshear is on my “do not vote for” list because of COVID. Based on past experience, I assume someone will chime in to the effect of “lol screw you maga!” But (1) I’m not MAGA and (2) if you’re hoping to win elections, you should try to win votes like mine!

Because of what the dems did during Covid I would be happy to see them suffer and suffer and suffer electorally until the end of time.

If just one of them would come forward and apologize for their conduct, policies, and rhetoric during that time I might consider voting for them.

But they never will. Because being a dem means never having to say you’re sorry.

We aren’t apologizing because we weren’t wrong. The one area Dems screwed up was closing schools for too long under pressure from teachers’ unions. Otherwise (vaccines, masks, etc) we did just fine. By the way, you do recall that Trump was President during the worst of the epidemic right? Actually he did pretty well too.

Right here, guys. They have NO REGRETS apart from school closures.

You have covid brain. Sorry for the lost brain mass.

He wouldn’t even carry his own state.

Maybe that's why none of our white men seem to get any traction. Even the few who are doing a good job as Governor seem very forgettable.

Our last elected Democratic president was a white man. He polled better with the Black electorate than Harris (or any of the other candidates). That’s a big reason he won the primaries.

Lol... Biden was elected because mega-donors preferred his loyalty over Warren and Sanders and then because his opponent in the 2020 general election was the weakest and most easily beatable incumbent in modern times.

LOL. That "weakest and most easily beatable incumbent in modern times" got 10 million more votes than ANY previous Presidential candidate in American history. It's just that Joe Biden got even MORE more votes than ANY Presidential candidate in American history. It only took 24 million extra total votes cast and a week of extra counting for Old Joe to eke out the win by a combined 70,000 votes across the three election-deciding swing states. The deciding factor in 2020 wasn't Trump's weakness. No Republican had ever done better. The deciding factor was Biden's immense and unexpected ballot box strength.

Sure, many votes for Biden were anti-Trump votes rather than pro-Biden votes. But still. As a ballot box champion, he made Clinton, Obama, Bush, Reagan, LBJ, FDR, etc. look like complete amateurs. Biden 2020 turned out the voters to an extent never before seen.

Why be involved in political threads if you don’t pay attention to politics?

Translation, “Democrats won’t pander to my fringe theories and the Putin talking point feds to me by Fox News so I’ll keep making insane political choices.”

You are right, you can keep the vote. The fact that there are enough people eating propaganda to re-elect Trump probably indicates that the US is in a permanent state of decline. The dollar
will continue to decline and will eventually be replaced as the global currency. Debt will go up, unemployment will go up, inflation will go up, morons will look at the stock market as the dollar deflates and the government pumps billions into it and say that the “economy” is great. Parts of the south will become more third world than the third world. The educational system is already a failure, clearly.

We might win in 2026 and 2028, but it’s temporary reprieve. Our adversaries won.

Umkay genius. You've figured it out. Trump and Biden have made Obama, Clinton, Bush and Reagan seem like amateurs.

I’m the person you’re quoting. If the future is so grim, why don’t you try to win elections to stop it?

I voted for Obama but have written in candidates in the last three elections. I’m a gettable vote for the right Dem. Why won’t you try?

There isn't much regular American citizens can do to coerce our best and brightest to enter our toxic and corrupt political arena and then to force a level playing field for those best and brightest to compete with politicians who are heavily funded by and preferred by mega-donors.

The influence of money in politics needs to be drastically reduced in order to improve the quality of our presidential candidates but the only folks who can do that are the same politicians who are bought and paid for by the wealthy elites. It isn't clear what you're asking us regular people to do when asking "why don't you try"?

At the moment, the illinois governor is probably the best option.

not a coastal elite, just midwestern elite but track record of executive leadership and governance.

So Dems should be MAGA?!? Another white billionaire. Absolutely not. You do know that MAGA is underwater. People don't want their snake oil.

Correct, if we want to win.

Sexism and racism by proxy? Um, no. Not this either.
