I dont get the JMU decision, but of course Alabama has to be in before ND.
ND's mistake was thinking the weekly rankings was meaningful. Never has been. |
The game between Duke and UVA was painful to watch. The ACC has a real problem on its hands. |
What does this have to do with the CFP? Duke was 8-5. That’s why they didn’t get into the CFP. CFP Team Records: Indiana @ 13-0 Ohio State @ 12-1 Georgia @ 12-1 Texas Tech @ 12-1 JMU @ 12-1 Oregon @ 12-1 Ole Miss @ 11-1 Texas A&N @ 11-1 Tulane @ 11-2 Oklahoma @ 10-2 Miami @ 10-2 Alabama @ 10-3 |
The bolded portions is not correct. Coach Harbaugh left for a very particular, highly publicized reason and your assertion is not that reason. |
| Look what happens when Michigan quits cheating. |
100% correct. Speaking of ACC football problems, wait until Notre Dame introduces their redesigned uniforms next season. According to unsubstantiated rumor, each version (home & away uniforms) will feature a prominent yellow streak on the back of each jersey accompanied by dainty, but sturdy, pink tutu skirts and matching panties. Still undisclosed as the team members and the athletic dept. are in disagreement over whether heels or flats will better complement the new outfits. |
ND has been well aware of its vulnerability all season. ND knew that if it ended up in a situation where it was competing with Miami for the last spot, it was in trouble. ND believed it had gamed the 12 team CFP, play 2 really good teams, one at home, go 1-1, run the table of the rest against weak opponents and get in. But, oops, ND gave up a TD to A&M on the last play of the game at home on 4th and 11. I really enjoyed seeing the clip of Paul Feinbaum ridiculing ND on ESPN this morning. |

Why would ND play in a meaningless game that benefits ESPN, a network that openly lobbied against them for weeks?
The system is broken. Everything is biased toward the SEC and their broadcast partner, ESPN, is leading the charge. |
Maybe to benefit their fans and the players ? |
Virtually every bowl game ND (and most other teams) have played in, ever, was "meaningless." What makes this one different? |
|
Also for the money. Payout to Notre Dame would probably be in excess of $3 million to play in the Pop Tarts Bowl against BYU. Or is Notre Dame too rich to care ?
The Big 12 fined both Iowa State &, if I recall correctly, Kansas State for refusing to be considered for bowl games this season. Each school was fined $500,000. Both teams lost their coaches and have not named replacements. |
Against Georgia, a team that Alabama beat in the regular season in Athens, the 3rd seeded team in the CFP. Alabama played one of the most grueling schedules in the country. |
Well I agree this is all about TV, TV money, and ESPN. And nothing to do with players who played their last game ever without realizing it |
| Well, ND made a deal to be independent and suck revenue off the NBC deal for years. They have been outmaneuvered by both the SEC and the Big-10. They should have made a move when the Pac-12 imploded. Humble pie is tough to eat. |
According to reports, the players voted against the bowl. And the seniors and Love were never going to play in a meaningless game with the NFL on the line. It was the right move. Call out the hypocrisy. Now break with the ACC. |
