There are so many bad teams in GA South Midatlantic that I don’t think they’re at risk of losing GA any time soon, but they missed the window for creating a strong program by reconstituting FCV under a different badge. There’s just too much legacy VRSC still there.

Coaching coaching coaching it’s all about coaching and VRSC doesn’t have it. Players will (have) migrate elsewhere.

GA will start consolidation in the Mid Atlantic South next year by demoting STJ. Then looking to demote Loudoun or VRSC in another year. Just not enough talent for 3 strong teams.
They will also take a hard look at Alexandria but my guess is enough girls will migrate from Arlington to make Alexandra relevant. Parents won’t want to play RL when they can drive an extra 10 mins for GA.

My recollection is that, other than the U19s,VRSC’s GA teams last year were all inside the top 200. That wasn’t good relative to the ECNL teams in the region, but it was a decent start for their first year in GA, particularly given how bad VRSC’s teams were in prior years. Without a clear step forward this year, I don’t see how the program doesn’t stall out.

There is no point for a team with no chance of being inside the top 100 to involve extensive travel or cost $5K a season. We are pretending these teams are something they are not. That is not a criticism of the teams or the players, it is a criticism of the clubs and the parents. It applies to VRSC and most of the Nova GA clubs.

That is not a criticism of the teams or the players, it is a criticism of the clubs and the parents. It applies to VRSC and most of the Nova GA clubs.

What a ridiculous notion. Who are you to declare what is a worthwhile way to spend $5k? A good number of the ECNL clubs are not top 100 either. And what makes it worth $5k for the top 100 teams who are playing the same games, traveling to the same places, and getting the same coaching, and same experience?

Not a legacy parent, we joined from another club and I can say that the FCV players and coaches are overrated... and the parents...OMG!
