Is it possible for a visiting student to sample/audit a class?

With any luck you'll be able to see the brand new dorms that are set to open before the semester starts.

Wow….that is one of the nicest dorms I’ve ever seen. Do you know if it is possible to tour ?

Tulane and Pepperdine are like Liberal Arts colleges. It is a different set up that allows you to explore different majors/subjects, etc.

Pick accordingly.

A lot people on this thread take this for granted. If you are 100% certain on your major, then this is not a problem. Both Tulane and Pepperdine operate as a liberal arts school for undergrads, allowing you to explore before committing to a major.

I dont think anyone that is not a resident can get in. Just email the school about touring dorms.

Centennial Village at Miami is a perfect example of reality vs fiction for that university.

It is a nice new hall, with higher ceilings, larger windows and good vibe. But there are no hot tubs or party lounges, it is just a nice dorm intended to make sure students leave their room and socialize.

I do like the bathroom setups, they are pod style where you have a toilet, vanity and shower you can lock into for as long as you need. They also have laundry machines every floor in multiple locations.

And at Pepperdine, you and 85% of the class will be abroad in your sophomore year. Amazing study abroad experience coupled with a liberal arts set up.

The rankings are based on kids of things not relevant to academics and future.

Wonder if USNWR will change methodology again this yr or next year?

It might be another year before the pressure to change kicks in.

Why worry about rankings? I know some of you cant stand the fact the these 3 schools dropped a lot, specially Tulane and Pepperdine, but who cares about USNWR rankings. These are great schools.

It if funny that between us (we are all between 30 and 45) we have always thought of our Tulane relatives as the ones with the better ranked school/pedigree….then Pepperdine and last Miami. Even our Miami family members thought so….

We were having fun the other day looking at recent rankings and the effect that changes (specifically with USNWR) over the last 2 years have copjmeltely turned around the rankings of these 3…. Miami way ahead of Tulane and then Pepperdine.
2021 - Tulane 42, Pepperdine 49, Miami not top 50
2022 - Tulane 41, Pepperdine 49, Miami not top 50

Jump to 2025: Miami 63, Tulane 63, Pepperdine 80

Wow…Yes I know methodology changed….but that is quite a manufactured change…..

One of these schools is NOTHING like the others

True - but Tulane gives decent merit and financial aid.
