Well according to MAGA both of them were too soft on immigration, so which is it?

Obama was a real president who did what was necessary to humanely stem the flow of new immigrants crossing the southern border in the same way Bush and Clinton did. Trump and Biden are complete jokes as presidents. Anyone who doesn't understand this by now is a complete and utter idiot!

Congress is where most fingers of blame should be pointed for failing to pass meaningful immigration reform for decades!

Who will work in agriculture? Meat packing? Service industry? I see a lot about “immigrants” being slave labor and that wages will have to go up to attract US citizens to these jobs. But that will lead to a huge increase in prices. And will US citizens move to where these jobs are located? Or is the idea that the government will subsidize the cost of relocating the jobs to where the people who currently rely on government handouts currently live?

What’s the plan?

I'm not speaking for "MAGA" and I'm not sure why the question was posed solely to them as they likely haven't thought that far ahead but I think the obvious answer lies within our decades long need for immigration law reform.

If and when we have a need immigrants to fill voids in our workforce, we need a more direct pathway to fill those voids through work visas geared towards all industries. This is referred to as legal immigration or just immigration by many. Filling these voids with undocumented immigrants awaiting asylum hearings in a post 9/11 world is nuts but that's essential what we've been doing for a long time.

OP here.
The question was addressed to MAGA because MAGA is not interested in immigration reform. Or really anything that I can discern. That’s why I asked the question. It’s a genuine one.

For example. Trump is not using ICE to bully states and employers to use e-verify. Why not? If the point is to make sure everyone working here is doing so legally, why not send ICE in to check paperwork?

Trump cut minimum wage requirements for people working on federal contracts. How does that contribute to “living wages” for Americans?

But MAGA is looking for a huge shift to the economy. So fine. How will it happen? What’s the plan?

Boring! That would make for terrible tv. Who would even watch that?

Pick one or the other. We can’t afford to have more people in this country if a large percentage is going to be receiving universal income checks because there are going to be far less jobs.

Reality: No one said anything about letting unlimited people into the country. Biden, the previous and much better President, had an immigration plan that Trump (who was not president) instructed his toadies in the GOP to torpedo so that he could implement his white power klan version of immigration control.
The plan that authorizes Biden to close the border when there are 5000 people a day getting in?
Biden could have stopped illegal immigration just as Trump did. He and the Democrats want more illegal immigration.

More illegals came in than were deported.

What I want to know is who is going to hold my beer when the party starts?

I love my mexican painters! I had white dipshits do some handyman work and couldn't pay them fast enough to get out of my house. Despicable job they did, nothing but excuses, and rude not to mention expensive.

Biden's numbers on interior removals were way down. His entire 'record deportations' is from deporting people caught at the border. Far more than deportations was to let people in on parole.

It’s all a manufactured issue.

It plays well to the base

Yep. The jobs they do take skill and artistry. They can’t just be replaced by any American looking for a job.
If people think they are taken advantage of, then how about we pay them what they are worth rather than deporting them so that we can pay white people 3x as much to do crappy work?

Not when they are concentrated in a few industries. But why not answer the question?

Wages will rise due to demand and more native born Americans will work those jobs.

In other words, you don't actually know anything about farming in the U.S. in 2025.

😂😂😂

I cannot. People can’t really think this? Right, right?

The GOP just voted down an increase in the federal min wage increase in April.
Minimum wage isn't needed when wages go up due to high demand.
If there is not high demand, then minimum wage kills jobs.

DP: Farmers will have to sell the farm. They don't make enough profit to pay higher wages.

I do not know this to be true. I had some brick steps repaired and repointed by an immigrant crew, they totally f'ed my front entrance way up! It's a rather larger area in the front of the house so I had to find someone else to repair their repair. Found a gentleman skilled in masonry who was an artist, a true artist and was able to reverse the damage. The immigrant crew took siestas on my front lawn and were texting most of the time, this other gentleman turned up on time and did the job. There are plenty of skilled laborers who are not illegal and people like you are the reason they aren't employed because you are cheap. Was I cheap in hiring the first crew, no, in fact they cost me more than the second repair. I was however stupid on every level to allow them to finish the job when I could see where it was heading. Hope springs eternal.
