The one question every single person in Europe asks me

That's odd. Nobody has ever asked me that in the UK, France, Spain, or Italy.

Most Americans don't care for the looting and burning and pro-terrorism slogans that progressives tend to bring. And progressive looters and nihilists will take over any march. So those street protests tend to work in favor of Republicans - see the Gaza and BLM protests. It's not effective.

The position ‘protests aren’t effective’ is….. ridiculous.

You may not have liked blm - but was it effective? Hell yeah. Try to find me one person who doesn’t know what blm stands for. Try to find me one cop who doesn’t know about the blm protests.

The idea that we are powerless feels so incorrect as to be troll worthy. We aren’t. Remember the Arab spring? Remember the anti apartheid protests? Remember Selma? No one was like ‘oh but we might be associated with the black panther party’ gtfo

Dude, BLM was not effective. That's why the majority of this country voted for Trump, the neo-Nazi puppet.

Our family in Greece has never asked this. I've been on business travel to Europe a few times this year and no one has ever asked. I think OP is generalizing or simply making things up.

You've been to all four since Trump took office this second time? Wow! You've been busy in the last two months.

I love the fake posts. Is that you KG, ambassador for the US in Greece or, in other words, the ditched girlfriend of Trump Jr?

OP needs to get to Eastern Europe. What I hear there is "this is what our lives are like here under authoritarian regimes. we never thought the USA would become like this."

You mean every person pretending to be European on tiktok?

Too much race baiting and attempts to get us into the streets. There is concern that Trump would enact martial law or abuse some sort of power to punish protesters and honestly we are sick and tired of fighting after we showed up to the polls and people still showed us who they were. We aren't going into the streets, except for those in our own community to build coalitions at the local level.

Black men did not show up.

Is your Google finger broken? 78% of Black men voted for Harris. That is the second largest demographic bloc behind Black women at 92%.
If Black Americans had the only votes that counted, Harris would have overwhelmingly won in a landslide .
Who are you lying to PP? Black people know what’s up, the MAGAs probably don’t care, and the rest of the Democrats know better than to trust “facts” thrown out there by anonymous sources with zero data to support their assertions.

tldr: If Black people were a larger percentage of the US population, we would all have health care and would still be friends with Canada.

But more black men voted for Biden in 2020 than they did for Harris. They didn’t show up or voted for Trump.

So? That’s not the same thing as “did not show up”. Your “more” is about a relatively small group (22%) of a relatively small percentage of the population (maybe 6%?) — some of whom (really tiny percentage, I’m not going to bother to figure it out) may have voted differently from the way people in their demographic group voted 4 years earlier. Maybe they’re the same people— maybe they’re not. Shrug.

If you’re on a roll, why not do a comparative analysis with other demographic groups? Especially the larger ones?
Why single out Black men? What point are you trying for here? Are you trying to distract attention from the huge numbers of white MAGA voters who have taken over the Republican Party?

Because we fear:

- guns
- AI facial recognition
- deportations of legal residents and citizens
- judges being ignored
- legislators picking their battles
- X mobs

DP. Well MY family in Greece has asked me a number of times WTF is going on in the US with Trump. In fact, we recently discussed whether there would be large marches in the US like those that occurred recently in Greece related to the Tempi train crash. DH's family in Northern Europe are perhaps even more incredulous about what's going on in the US. Except for people who are anti-immigrant (and those exist everywhere), nobody thinks the Trump administration is good or even normal.

Pro terrorism slogans? Which pro-terrorism slogans? I just watched video of a Palestinian child picking up the body parts of his mother. I’m sorry if you’re such a monster that you cheer that on, but the people who are protesting are not terrorists, you racist, bigoted Zionist. I think you’re late for your “right to rape” protest in Tel Aviv. And the only violence at the protests were committed by your side when people like Jerry Seinfeld’s wife paid them to commit violence as they did on the UCLA campus and Cops who were directed by the likes of Bill Ackman and other wealthy Zionists who met with Mayor Adams in private and demanded he use his cops as brown shirts to protect people like you who simply can’t get enough of watching civilians be slaughtered, and dogs eating the corpses.

This is why you’re losing. I guarantee you’re over 40, because no one buys your garbage. You clearly haven’t been paying attention at all. You just listen to the nonsense from your side where January 6 was just a bunch of tourists but people protesting to stop the slaughter of children is something you find appalling. Absolutely disgusting.

“From the river to the sea” is a pro-terrorism slogan. It is right out of the Hamas charter.

And while you will undoubtedly attempt to weasel your way out of the fact, the fact remains:

- Hamas is a designated terrorist organization. Yes - they “won” the Gaza election (and then summarily executed scores of Fatah loyalists in the streets). Hamas started this war. Hamas holds the hostages and prolongs the war by refusing to realize hostages (taking hostages is itself a terrorist tactic and a human rights violation, not to mention a Hamas war-crime).

I am not the PP you responded to, but she is right: you demonstrate under pro-terrorism slogans constantly. The only logical conclusion here is: you support terrorism.

Because there’s no longer freedom of speech in America.
There are repercussions.

That’s the answer. “We lost our freedom of speech”.

OP, my family in Europe asks me the same. My European-born mother who lives in the US asks the same every time we speak. And so do many Americans.

No idiot, just a first-gen Greek American whose parents came here legally.

Agreed. BLM achieved nothing other than gaining a lot of antipathy towards the left.
