I’ve been in london, France and Germany and everyone wants to talk politics and every single person has the same q: why are Americans not at very least protesting if not striking or rioting in the streets. I don’t know, bc I grew up in the uk where we do strike and protest I think more, what to tell them. Why aren’t we? Why are we just rolling over and letting Trump do this to our country?

We haven't had effective protests in the US since the Vietnam era. These days, street protests are associated with Gaza and BLM. The vast majority of people who are appalled by Trump don't want to be associated with progressive activists. It's a problem. Most Americans don't care for the looting and burning and pro-terrorism slogans that progressives tend to bring. And progressive looters and nihilists will take over any march. So those street protests tend to work in favor of Republicans - see the Gaza and BLM protests. It's not effective.

You may not have liked blm - but was it effective? Hell yeah. Try to find me one person who doesn’t know what blm stands for. Try to find me one cop who doesn’t know about the blm protests.

The idea that we are powerless feels so incorrect as to be troll worthy. We aren’t. Remember the Arab spring? Remember the anti apartheid protests? Remember Selma? No one was like ‘oh but we might be associated with the black panther party’ gtfo

I think mass protests like that will only hope their agenda and have bring on martial law. We believe in the constitution and that the judicial branch will be listened to. They can’t arrest legal American citizens protesting. They can’t legally, they can’t logistically.
The idea that we shouldn’t take to the streets and demand an end to this insanity bc of random spurious reasons is beyond ridiculous. Grow a pair

Because the actions are dispersed, can be interpreted in multiple ways, it's been 2 months and historically the first few months are disruptive, and you'd need about half of the voting population to concede they created this mess.

Take a look at the steps to the butterfly revolution. After attacking the Judiciary, the next stage is martial law.
We can’t end this because it would take Republicans in congress to vote against Trump, not because of protests.

BLM protests were anything but peaceful. What you are seeing now is a pushback. Remember the couple in NYC who threw a Molotov cocktail into a police car? They were professional people and all they got was a slap on the wrist.

As for Selma. I remember that. The protesters were not violent. Big difference.

The poster you quoted is correct. They do lots of things they ‘can’t do’ because they’re fascist. Look at Project 2025- they want an excuse to declare martial law. Some believe the Insurrectionist Act will be invoked at the southern border next month.
