Np I’d never heard about these protests until they happened.

It was a grassroots movement that started on social media. Imagine how much more powerful it would have been if mainstream media reported and picked up on it.

Liar.

Empty words. Prove me wrong.

You realize Feds pay taxes, right?

Because until the recent stock market crash, the average American hasn’t been affected. Really, exactly what has HAPPENED? What are concrete things that change the lives of ordinary Americans? Truly nothing.

Europeans are rather gullible and believe everything in the news. They also are rather anti-American.

The vast majority of people who are appalled by Trump don't want to be associated with progressive activists. It's a problem. Most Americans don't care for the looting and burning and pro-terrorism slogans that progressives tend to bring. And progressive looters and nihilists will take over any march. So those street protests tend to work in favor of Republicans - see the Gaza and BLM protests. It's not effective.

The biggest BS answer here. Good lord, you are the reason we are in this mess.

Right now they are- and with good reason.

Arrests of people and their disappearance to detention camps. The gutting of govt agencies who monitor food and drugs, the cancelation of research personnel and studies, safety personnel at FAA, the lack of funding to colleges, the destruction of the BOE, the price of everything skyrocketing. Funds removed from thousands of non profits. The list goes onn

The French for example protest like 10x every day somewhere. We're just not that kind of people culturally either - we don't take 30 day holidays for example The Europeans are much more emotional as the Latin Americans are and Asians to some extent. Puritan Americans are not taught to really protest.

So, do the Boston Tea Party and the Revolutionary War ring a bell with you PP? The United States was founded in “protest”.

How can you make time for dumping tea and holding signs with all this door dash and pot gummies going on?

I don’t know, bc I grew up in the uk where we do strike and protest I think more, what to tell them. Why aren’t we? Why are we just rolling over and letting Trump do this to our country?

I grew up in Western Europe- at university, the most obscure cause got a few thousand people in the streets.
In US recently, the number of people who show up, is pathetically low. Surprisingly, it’s to a large degree, the much maligned boomers that show up with their signs.
Part of it is really poor communication- if I hear by word of mouth and then need to google to find the time of a rally that’s rumored to take place, then low attendance is no surprise.
With all the firings of Feds in the dmv, one should easily expect thousands

You think Germans are emotional. They’re out in tens or hundreds of thousands , eg during anti AfD rallys.
I think it’s American individualism. Very much focused on personal interest. Have a look at the threads in Reddit. A lot still focus on their individual job, grant, career.

+1 The April 5 protest at the W Memorial was huge but there was very little media coverage. That’s the problem.
