Musk is inciting violence against USAID personnel. This is the same kind of rhetoric that was used in Stop the Steal until people started chanting "hang Mike Pence".

Yeah, you see how much Trump cared about the criminal activity of the Jan 6 protestors who threatened the safety of Mike Pence and Congress. He pardoned them on Day 1 in office, even though some had murdered and maimed law enforcement officers.

No one murdered a law enforcement officer.

I’m not the PP but our acquaintance lost their job as a contractor from the EO.

They bragged for years about their travel all over the world to “educate” the locals on support distribution. But they openly joked by the time they “trained” someone in country and aid arrived (if ever) whomever they “trained” was long gone - so they got to go back 2-3 times to train (or not) to the same country and typically they planned stops on their way of places to visit.

I am not saying there was not some good being done; but maybe 1 out 20 dollars spent was of value from what I heard.

Then Congress should shut it down. This is about more than just the agency, it's about the U.S. straying from being a country of laws and separation of powers and moving to banana republic status.

We have a constitution, laws, and checks and balances. DT is operating as if none of those matter. Get rid of waste, but within the bounds of the law of our country.

All of this. Reasonable minds have always disagreed about the role of government, but NEVER until now has there been any question about following the rule of law.

Any agency was opened by EO and can be dissolved by EO. My former ngo was funded by unsaid….it paid for lots of junkets for senior people.

The functions of the agency are required by law. He can change the agency’s name but can’t choose not to carry out the law.

Please state the law being broken. And for all the people posting their NGO is shuttering because of this. Seems odd that your NGOs can’t survive because USAID ceases funding. Something is amiss.

Thanks for the link. The law states he can’t shutter it but he can realign and restructure it, which seems to be what he is doing.

Many NGOs do not manage their revenue well. If an NGO can’t operate without USAID funding then the leadership of that NGO should be let go. Truly impactful NGOs will find other revenue sources and survive.
