| This is a s/o but who wants to start a "I keep chickens in my backyard" AMA? We have soooo many questions |
There is due to avian flu, but there are eggs to be found for less than $4. People freaking out about eggs claiming $10 is ridiculous. |
I think that is a common rule, it was the same for where I lived in CT. This is where I am not sure why people are thinking you could just have chickens in urban areas where nobody has that much land. There are still rules that restrict what you realistically could have. |
Because there are places that have different rules. That is why. |
You're correct. I missed that PP said "for each," that's not right. The permit involves a newspaper advertisement, notifying your neighbors, and a public hearing and zoning board vote. Which is fine! But it's more than, say, a building permit. Personally I think a limited number of poultry (like 6 hens?) should be allowed on any lot so long as you have setbacks from the neighbors. If your lot is too small or your house is too big, you wouldn't meet setback requirements. But requiring 2 acres for even a small number of chickens or ducks is overkill. There are public parks with more birds in less space. |
they said last Tuesday. Everyone did the bulk of the pre storm shopping prior to that. Some places might not have gotten deliveries. Mwrarh |
No, *I* said “Tuesday night”. As in last night. Not a week ago. Yesterday. The 14th. As another poster said - you CAN acknowledge there’s an egg shortage right now without it making you a trump supporter. You don’t have to keep carrying the torch for Joe. Because right now you look like a complete moron trying to convince the crowd how awesome the Emperor’s New Clothes look, when we can all plainly see his wedding tackle hanging down. |
Today isn't Wednesday. That's disinformation. |
| For the egg shortage denier, I just left Safeway in Olney and there are 0 eggs. If you don’t believe me, call them. They have signs up stating there is an egg shortage. |
I’m sorry. You’re right. Today, January 15th, isn’t a a Wednesday. And yesterday, January 14th, wasn’t a Tuesday, either. I was mistaken. Donald Trump assaulted me in a dressing room and caused me to lose my memory. I was actually speaking about last week, but I’m stupid and you were a lot smarter than me and showed me where I was wrong. You are a God-King-Queen-Being and we are so fortunate to have someone of your eminence here to advise and correct all of us. I’m stupid because climate change has given me gender confusion and I’m a victim of the patriarchy fascists. Thank you your Godship. |
Wow. You are really on fire. I have no idea if there is an egg shortage all the way in outer MD where you live. There is not one here. So it’s spotty stock I guess? Anywhoooo prices are up maybe a dollar. That happens over time. |
| Went to Aldi on Tuesday night, and they had a seemingly endless supply of eggs. Boxes and boxes of them stacked in the refrigerator. $3.49 for a carton which seemed reasonable to me. |
| I live in MA. No egg shortage and I paid $4.99 for 18 on Sunday. Can’t wait for it to be lower! |
Kensington is “outer Maryland”?!?! JFC, what a moron
|
Go to the aldi in Silver Spring on Georgia Ave. They have all the eggs you heart desires. You can buy enough for your entire neighborhood! |
