There's literally hundreds if not thousands of real life and academic studies of the negative economic impact of congestion and reductions in access. |
"But wHeRe WiLl I PaRk!!!?!!"
|
| There is an astounding level of entitlement from the suburban folks here. Believe it or not, people live in DC and their needs for parking need to be prioritized. If you wanna get out of your generic, lifeless home and visit a real place, that's fine. But you'll have to pay for it instead of being a leech or be subsidized by us. Thanks! |
Unlike you, I was born, raised and still live in DC. Your ideas are bad and harm the city. Please go back to whatever non-local suburb you are from. |
You sound like an old person with very weird theories about young people. "Why are young people these days always wearing blue hats?!!" |
This from a 25 year old who pays so little in taxes that they wouldn't buy a single stop sign. |
The economic illiteracy on this thread is astounding. There aren't enough people in Washington DC to support all the bars and restaurants. Half of them would close without the "bridge and tunnel people." |
Go post on NYUM. You can complain about the congestion pricing. |
DC sucks right now. It's like we're back in the bad old days before Anthony Williams. |
Again, this whole post is about street parking during peak times. The spaces used by bridge and tunnel people are laughably small and simply don't matter at all. DDOT has the numbers, you people simple choose to ignore them because you care only about your car. |
Homeowner in DC in a home certainly worth more than yours, but thanks for the vote of confidence! |
Harm car-owners, I think you mean. Which is not everyone. Again, please stop being so selfish. It's not hard! Just think about other people. It's easy. My taxes shouldn't support your car. End of story. |

In this thread: "Virginia and Maryland are so great and have tons of cool bars and restaurants, they will just go out in those neighborhoods instead of DC if this goes through! DC is being unfair and I'm mad!"
Also in this thread: "Everyone who goes to DC bars are from Maryland and Virginia! The bars will all close down without the Maryland people leaving where they live to hang out elsewhere!" Can't have it both ways folks. lol. |
The irony of everything you wrote is inescapable. Again, please stop being so selfish. It's not hard! Just think about other people. It's easy. My taxes shouldn't support your idiocy. End of story. |
+1 Plus: for decades, DC policymakers have been too stupid to bother capitalizing on one of their major sources of funding: - tourism Yet again, DC will shoot itself in the foot. Our local government is an incompetent, single-party, disgrace. |
