Is it responsible to spend 90K/yr in education?

Many wealthy and spoiled kids from my circle went to state schools for frat/party culture and sports spirit and because they didn't get into good private schools due to being bad with math. They all got fancy cars and nice apartments because "they were saving money by going to state schools".

Meanwhile kids with good math went to good private schools and live on campus to save cost.
