Political Discussion
Good, now if we can all Christians, Muslims, and Jews to tone down the amount of "religion" in their lives, maybe we can move closer towards world peace. |
I don't know what you mean by moderate Catholic. Plenty of people across the whole political spectrum at your local Catholic Church. If by moderate you are talking about people who don't want to believe core teachings of the church, then good, they should leave and find a church that agrees with them. But it is they who have drifted; the church is not the one changing its position on these teachings. |
The Catholic Church has always been really corrupt (remember the Reformation?). Public awareness of the corruption ebbs and flows but right now is at a high thanks to the Church deciding to interfere in U.S. politics.

G-d forbid actual Catholics follow the teachings of Jesus Christ right? |
You’re really out of touch. Half of Catholics lean Democrat and/or were Obama/Trump/Biden voters. Our church in Michigan is full of everything from UAW hourly employees, union plumbers and electricians… to local lawyers, doctors, and business owners. Nobody at our church is a far-right extremist wacko. |
"increasingly MAGA" refers to a trend. It doesn't mean ALL the priests are citing Fox News and decrying wokeness, but it does mean that the Catholic Church as an institution has aided and abetted the MAGA movement and the percentage of "wackos" is increasing as normal people leave. |
Donald Trump is a twice divorced philanderer with 5 children from 3 different women. There isn't a Commandment he hasn't violated. His lived life should be more insulting to Catholics than a stupid video. |
Baseless malarkey. You are talking out of your bigoted ass. |
Why don't you name some institutions that are not corrupt or tainted. |

The election tradition white tie dinner… which was carried live across cable, YouTube, twitter, etc. and creates hundreds of millions of impressions via viral clipped content and Friday news articles? |

Donald Trump wasn't funny at all, and neither was Harris, which isn't surprising, since hardly any Presidential candidates are funny when they talk at the Al Smith dinner, or the White House Correspondents' dinner. Presidential candidates usually have way, way too much ego to be funny. This event never moves the needle, so no need to go into conniptions. |

NP. What’s interesting is that the bigoted anti-Catholic poster who is rapid-fire posting here is almost certainly someone who defends the treatment of women in places like Saudi Arabia. Interesting to see the hypocrisy.
I’m an atheist Harris voter, but even I can see that the ones who are terrible in this thread are not the Trump voters. |
Can not believe they gave that orange head this platform. Shame on "raising money for charities." |
