How about we first rein in all of the unpaid-for, out-of-control Republican tax cuts for the rich and big corporations, which absolutely did not trickle down to the poor and the middle class and did nothing to help small business. That would do a lot to rein in budget deficit. |
+1 this is the answer The proposal will likely not impact prices very much but will aim to send a message her administration cares about inflation. Consumers don't understand that reduced inflation (which has already happened) doesn't mean prices go down again, so this is how they tell voters "we hear you and we care". |
|
Proceed at your peril. I am telling you what it sounds like to the voters you need to win. Stop doing this. |
No we don't. In 2023, we exported more than we imported. Keep up! |
How about both. |
Agree with you both, although people struggling to afford groceries don’t care/won’t care who is to blame, they just want to know the issue is heard and something is planned to address it. Actually addressing it is a hell of a task and probably not achievable, but that can be a problem for 2028. |
You are dumb a S. Biden signed stimi checks and spent over $1 TRILLION in more stimulus. Do you truly have that short term of a memory? Truly shocking. Biden is also the one who prolonged rent moratoriums and student loan repayment moratoriums. All of that money and savings from not having to pay bills takes years to flush out. That’s why consumer demand has remained strong even in the face of rising prices. There’s too much free money in the economy that has caused a diabetic sugar rush |
Ahhhh yes. Price controls. Because that has worked out so well for making affordable housing in NYC. Name a single country on Earth that has ever done well with govt prices controls on the macro economy and food. We will be great once we are turned into Argentina and Venezuela. Dems are moving at breakneck speed towards socialism. Now they literally want to control the means of production through strict price controls. |
No wonder gold is at an all time high, $2,500 / oz. The end of our democracy is before us. |
It is a smart move. |
I’m ready for a return to a gold standard. Throw the Federal Reserve out the window. |
Government price controls on consumer goods is COMMUNISM.
That’s all. |
It literally isn’t communism. Use your brain cells for once. Communism would be the government expropriating your food producing business, dismantling the owner-worker dynamic, and letting the workers oversee how much production to make. |
