I don’t actually care that they decided that middle-school shock antics were what France needed to do in their opening ceremonies. A lot of that ceremony was dumb, interspersed with moments of beauty. If that's what she's saying (and I've seen no credible evidence that she did) then she's either trolling or she didn't understand the role. The organizers and directors have all said it was the Feast of Dionysus and that is further backed up by the fact of a giant feast platter featuring a guy dressed like Dionysus showing up in the middle of it. Continuing to insist it was "the last supper" which makes no sense given the Dionysus character and the lack of anything that can be directly identified and matched to the 12 apostles, makes no sense. Stow your faux outrage, you're just making fools of yourselves.

That’s the best point of the thread. Russian and Belarus were banned from this games, although some athletes from both (under 20 each) who could show the had not taken action to support Putin and were not in the military are competing under the IOC flag. Can’t wear Russian / Belarusian flag or colors, Olympic flag and anthem if they win, etc.

I asked this in another thread, but if it really wasn’t the last supper, why didn’t the Olympic committee take the time to clarify that when they apologized?

And it really is time to move on. I’m only commenting because I didn’t realize it was being discussed over here in politics.
