You know where they recruit for sports? Everywhere. Most coaches do not meet family until quite late in the process. So no your post is not correct. And no a college coach could care less who anyone's parents were. |
Interesting that the best soccer program in the area has only sent 5-6 players to top college programs and has zero players signed to a homegrown contract with DC United. They didn’t make any homegrown signings last year either. That should put the odds of a college or pro contract into proper perspective. |
What does any of this have to do with ECNL supposedly making an announcement about something? |
Your levels of skewed interpretation to suit your biased narrative is at least consistent 🤣 |
the low league fake announcement holds no interest |
Late in the process for the recruit is not the same as late in the process for the coach. Coaches absolutely meet the family early enough to not lose other recruits for the same roster spot. Family interviews happen around the same time as the application pre-view, typically just after the admissions department gets back to the coach with either preliminary approval or pre-application comments admissions would need resolved to green light. DMV is filled with red-flag families. A lot of them are red-flagged well before the player and coach connect because psycho soccer parents had already been reaching out. And sometimes they’re red-flagged by their existing team coaches. High-level soccer coaching is a very small community. |
Ohhhh…the inferiority complex ISNT the self important parents that identify themselves as powerful due to their tangential connection to power (almost everyone that works near DC)….it’s the people that roll their eyes at them that have the inferiority complex… ![]() Learned something new today, thank you! |
My brain is fried after reading this.
What will theoretically happen with 08.2015 with 2033 graduation year? I don’t get the cutoff dates |
You are worrying about your... rising 4th grader? Let it go. |
Doubt this potential change will impact current ECNL teams, pre-ECNL only, so good to know actually |
And what a total waste of their time when they track down the brochure, or do a Google search or call the coach and find out said player is wrong recruiting year- You all may not like what’s happening for whatever personal reasons you have but if college coaches weren’t complaining, ECnL would not be doing this- after all that is their value prop/ college recruiting. It’s in their best interest to keep coaches happy and coming back to tournaments. Smart business move by ECNL to cater to coaches and remove current annoyance. |
Is this for girls or boys? Girls I'll assume since ecnl isn't a recruiting priority for boys. On the girls side, college coaches don't know who they're scouting before they get to a tournament? |
Tourettes post? Glad you are a proud parent of a DCU kid, but that has nothing to do with this thread. Congrats to those kids and best of luck. |
